I go to Arthur, and it is kind of-eh. SOME of my teachers actually listen to me when I have a complaint or a suggestion. OTHERS don't. And I don't like having to share the same sink with the boys bathroom. And they need a new music room. It's just the old gym! And the new gym is tiny! The classrooms are big, and they all have couches and basic living room stuff. My mom doesn't let me go to after school activities so they should do some during school. And I think they should let us go to the library more often. We only go once a month! G.T is great, the water is off, and there is three floors, 6th grade is on the first and third floors, while 5th grade is on the middle floor. They have buses, and the specials classes are all outside. The after school activities are the play rehersals, sometimes choir, sometimes band, whiz quiz, and sometime student council. Though student council after school was only for 6th graders, which, I am a fifth grader, and that didn't seem very fair. Bye!
All the good teachers have resigned because the school leadership is very poor. If your child is working above grade level his/her needs are ignored because they will pass the STAAR tests. Also, the superintendent has publicly stated that he wouldn't let his children be placed in gifted and talented classes. This attitude is why the GT classes have been all but eliminated.
I think their are many good teachers who care about the children. But lack of leadership from administration is a problem. Also, many teachers can not control the classroom. Students can't learn because the classmates are being disruptive, talking, getting out of their seats, etc...
