Jackson-Via Elementary School Reviews
Our 3rd grader has been at Jackson-Via since kindergarten and has had a wonderful experience. This school truly feels like a family, from the way teachers and administrators greet the kids outside every morning to the many community events held throughout the year, such as family Bingo nights, Literacy and Math game nights, and our family's favorite, the Rocktoberfest fall festival. Another favorite event is the annual Soul Feast, in which our local churches provide a true feast for every member of our school community at no charge. Jackson-Via also offers wonderful after-school clubs, including French club, Garden club (we have a gorgeous community garden), and Girls on the Run. A few other favorites: the photos of the kids on the walls throughout the building, the open library at the center of the school, the massive greenspace and wooded trails behind the school, and the turtles in the courtyards, where kids can have lunch as a treat! We are so proud to be Jackson-Via Jack Rabbits!
Between the administration, teachers & parents, the children at Jackson-Via are well looked after and developed. There are a lot of great extra-curricular activities available to students and a very diverse population. Our children have had a fantastic experience at this school and will be more well-rounded adults because of it. We would choose Jackson-Via over a private option any day of the week.
We are very happy with the school. Most importantly, our daughter loves the school and loves learning.
The school follows Wellness Policy and Regulations that are recommended by School Health Advisory Board (SHAB). The principal and teachers have children's health and safety as their priority.
They seem great... but sometimes aren't very accessible.
We've been very happy with the Administration.
Appearance is old... but kept in great condition. Tech is current. Support staff is solid.
Great, peaceable atmosphere. Some kids are scared of the Nurse, but deep down, she's seems solid.
