The food isn't that great, the school is overflooded with students during passing periods, but overall it's a great school. There is an occasion where you might get a teacher that doesn't really care, which was my case in 7th grade for math, but the classes aren't typically that hard if you pay attention. The orchestra program, however, isn't that supported by the school, but that's the district in general. I remember in 6th grade it wasn't that bad but in 7th grade the small portable we were in felt more cramped, and by 8th grade, in the highest orchestra, there was barely any room to move. I will say band was prioritized a lot more than orchestra.

I have been enrolled at Jackson for three years, sixth grade through eighth. These years have provided me with lots of experiences to use as I enter adulthood and high school. Overall the teachers are very involved with their student's life and are interested in helping all of them succeed.
My love of math, science, and technology stemmed from this school which was immersed in all of these. Jackson MST profoundly prepared me for high school, and may be a foundational element in my current pursuit of a graduate education and career in data science and informatics.
