Wilson aka Jackson-Reed:
You can tell that most of the teachers are passionate about what they teach (except a few). There are a lot of different sports (both club and DCIAA/DCSAA sports), arts, theater, and clubs you can participate in. There are groups such as the Arab Student Union, Black Student Union, Gender Sexuality Alliance, Jewish Student Union, and more that work to bring more inclusivity and awareness to the school.
WilsonLive is awesome because we can watch live or re-watch sports and other events on their youtube channel, and the overall feel of the school is really accepting and you feel like you're a part of a big community of diverse and interesting people.
Academics are as hard or as easy as you want them to be. Wilson/Jackson-Reed has honors-for-all so everyone is automatically put into honors classes (honors biology, advanced english III, honors geometry, etc.) which is a nice boost for your GPA. The academies/pathways and range of classes offered are awesome too.

As an alumni of Woodrow wilson I can say this school molded me into a better person and created the best high school experience for me, that’s because of three main things. Teachers/administrators, academics and resources. Starting with teachers and administrators, they were my mentor and friend. Ms. Harstorn for example (my English teacher) alway pushed me past my limits in writing, she taught me how to think out the box, be a better writing, how to apply those skills to my college essay that got me into 15 colleges but she also was a friend, who I could sit in the class with during lunch and talk, was there when family life was hard.. Academic in Wilson was the best, I believe that what was Wilson was most known. I got to take biomedical science classes all four years which ended up helping me find my passion, nursing. Then resources, it allowed me to get in my school now with a scholarship due to all the help I was handed and guided with like college workshops, speakers, etc
Really average high school. Just a typical high school you would have in your mind. I liked some of the teachers a lot, they’re really supportive, actually cares about you, and sacrifices their lunch time to give you guidance on whatever material you don’t understand from that class. You would be able to tell that a lot of teachers love their jobs and are really cool in the sense that they’re funny and chill. The faculty desk not so much and the adults that aren’t teachers such as counselors and deans don’t care enough about their jobs. They seem really unprofessionally and confused about their job, not enough of a help when you need a dean for support. They have a swimming pool center right next to the school and the location is near the metro so it’s convenient. Many restaurants around the metro. You can also take the bus to get to beautiful Georgetown easily which is definitely a thumbs up.
