I have been at Jackson Prep since 6th grade and have loved every second of it! The staff and students are some of the best people you will ever meet. I have had the best mentors through the years. So many amazing teachers have taught me valuable lessons not only in the classroom, but also out of class. I feel that Jackson Prep gives you so many more opportunities that you may not get at other schools. The college counseling program is amazing. The art department is absolutely amazing! We have great athletics, clubs and events. I know high school will always be this amazing experience I can look back on as an adult.

Jackson Prep is a school that has something for everyone. I have always been amazed at the level of opportunity Jackson Prep provides its students. I have personally been involved with the band program and drum line. My instructor Mr. Kincaid always pushed us to do challenging pieces, and I am a better musician because of it. I recently accepted a band scholarship with the University of Mississippi, and I am thankful to Prep and Mr. Kincaid for fostering my love of music. I have also been challenged academically. I was part of the honors math program for years and just recently completed AP Calculus. While it was one of the hardest courses I have taken, it was actually one of my favorite classes because of Ms. Van Uden.
My experience at Jackson Prep was fantastic to say the least. I believe the school does an excellent job at preparing you for college. There are plenty of AP and Dual-Enrollment options available. Especially for advanced classes, the class sizes are small and the amount of one-on-one time with teachers is high. The arts department is well supported and the cafeteria is second to none. While Jackson Prep has a long way to go with diversity, steps are being taken in the right direction such as higher interest a diversity officer. I certainly had a wonderful time in high school.
