My experience at Morton East High School for the past 4 years have been amazing. The people you meet in this school become more than friends, you get to watch each other grow during these 4 years. There so much school spirit one support can change a sports or clubs perspective. Teachers are supportive with each and every student, deans, counselor, assistant principle and principle support every student and there decisions. Morton East was AP district of the year in 2016. This has evolved with better technology in classrooms and for students, upgraded desk and chairs in classes and makes learning a safe environment.

Although it is a low income school and therefore has limited resources, J. Sterling Morton East High School has managed to provide a good Education for students. The administrators, teachers, and faculty are very involved in their students' lives and try their best to set them on a path to succeed. Morton East also offers AP and College Credit classes for those interested and a wide variety of clubs and events for students to participate in. The facilities, however, leave much to be desired as mice and insects can be found in the buildings. Currently there is a lack of air conditioning, but I know they started working on that in 2018 and it should work by the time the warmer months come.
Honestly, Morton offers great opportunities for students that actually want to learn & plan on continuing their education after High School. If you take advantage of the Ap classes & actually engage with the faculty & programs offered, you will find it very helpful in college, from ap credits to scholarships. Make sure to make the best out of your time in High School, you will find it very helpful & certainly will not regret it in the long run! Big shout out to my teachers, specially Gamboa! Proud to be a Morton Alumni!
