Although they had a few teachers who didn't have a passion to teach, served food that lacked taste, sold overly expensive temporary IDs, offered crowded and humid hallways and classrooms with no AC, and often had violent physical interactions among students. Overall, Morton is a great school because they have plenty of teachers that encourage you to surpass your limits and succeed in what you believed you can never achieve. This school offers so many clubs, opportunities to push to get out of your comfort zone. They offer so many sported where you can create new long lasting friendships among other students and faculty. But what I love most about this school, was how so many different types of people from different cultures, races, genders, and talents can come together to form new experiences that helped us shape into the independent individuals we are today.
My experience in J. Sterling Morton East High School, is a good school, but has some effects throughout the building. The 3 years i was in that High school, I've never had a problem, with any teacher, counselor, or staff. They are all nice people in my opinion, some kids might of had different point of views. But is a good school, because you get to have a elective class, and is something for you to learn more experience. Since I love cooking I decided to join the courses of Culinary arts, best teachers, they teach excellence methods of cooking. The teachers in your classes are nice people too, they are even willing to teach you afterschool, if you don't get the class, for a fast review, so you can be ready for your upcoming test. What I also like is that they let you retake, is a great advantage incase you didn't do good in the test you can do better. There's also sports, and kids could have fun in the activities. But I dislike, that the building was old, and they has to repair.
If you reach out, you'll learn that there are many resources and MANY great teachers to help you out! The teachers are amazing. I just wish they prepared the students more for standardized tests.
