Isle of Wight Academy Reviews
Rating 3.84 out of 5 49 reviews
My time at Isle of Wight Academy was mixed. While some teachers were genuinely invested in student success, others seemed disengaged. The range of extracurriculars was limited, and the overall atmosphere lacked vibrancy. The facilities were decent but not outstanding. While the school provided a just above-average standard education, it didn't offer the enriching experience I had hoped for. It wasn't a bad experience, but it almost fell short of being truly memorable or impactful.
I've been a student out at my school since Pre-K. The environment always made me feel safe and cared for. The teachers and the administration reminded my parents of the elementary, Junior High, and High Schools they attended as kids back in the 70s & 80s. It's throwback but has great traditions and a fierce group of alumni. The coursework is hard but allows you to excel and it absolutely prepared me for college. We have AP, and Dual Credit courses and even Honors classes. Our clubs and sports teams kept me engaged throughout my time here and I'm just going to miss it and all the people who teach and care about us each day. Going away to college is exciting and I can't wait to begin this next chapter of my life, but I'm going to miss this quaint country school where everyone knows your name and you always feel welcome.
My experience at Isle of Wight Academy has been outstanding. It is a smaller school but has all the bells and whistles that a public school offers but on a much smaller scale. From football games to pep rally’s to dual credit and AP classes, my high school career has been fulfilled with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I think the most wonderful characteristic my school has is the small hometown feel where everyone knows everyone and nobody is a stranger.
