I am writing as a parent. My son flourished at this high school. If your child wants to succeed, he or she will get all the help that the school can offer and then some. I believe that the staff and Guidance Office really cares about the kids and wants them to achieve their goals.
My advice is, if your child attends this school or any other, then get involved. Meaning, attend the parent-teacher conferences and anything involving parents and students. Get to know their teachers and Guidance Counselor. That way, if you have to speak on behalf of your child, it is much easier to get whatever help your child needs to succeed in school.
Besides, the kids work hard to create the plays, shows and sports events that the school has every so often. Why not enjoy the moment and have some fun with your kids?
I'll finish this review with this. Thank you to the staff of Island Trees HS for working very hard to have an in-person graduation for these kids during the pandemic. Way to go!

I would consider this to be a "mediocre at best" high school. There is nothing spectacular, yet nothing inherently wrong with it. It is mainly white kids with a growing Hispanic population. You could count the number of minorities in each grade level on one hand, but that is to be expected when the houses in the town were originally only sold to white people. There are some teachers that take pride in their work, but there are some that teach more about their kids than the actual material. There seems to be a huge lack of school spirit, students often calling the school "Island Trash," so if you come expecting that teen coming-of-age story where the bleachers are packed with students cheering on the team, except to be disappointed. Over the past four years, they have slowly begun to improve their facilities like the sports field, locker room, and bathrooms, most of which haven’t been touched since the 1970s. They also have stepped up their security game.
I would rate this school with a 5 star . Island Tress High School may just be the best school I have ever come across. The staff, teachers, alumni are all wonderful. This school is one of a kind. The amount of time each teacher uses to help each student is incredible. The school is neat and clean. so far no complaint against this school. There are so many clubs to join. There are so many different types of sports in this school. The food is good too. This school also has lots of music and art options. This school also has a wonderful library which has access to great books and resources. when it is time to choose a good college, the teachers and guidance are always ready to help. overall I really love this school as a student. If anyone asks me about a good high school to go to with no doubt I would take Island Trees High School. Have any doubt, call the administrative office today of Island Trees School district and check it out. The number is on the Island trees school website.
