Great school with great teachers. Friendly community with those you grow close to. The teachers are always there for you to help you with any problems that you may be going through. They will help you learn to the best of your ability and grow in and outside of the classroom. The atmosphere in the High school is very school spirited. With great sports, coaches help you become the best person you can be and help you achieve your goals that you may have on the field, court, or track. It is where you meet some of your closest, lifelong friends that you are able to share all your memories with and grow out of high school with.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ishpeming High School and I wouldn't go back in time to change a thing.

IHS is located in a very small community, so one must get used to the fact that people tend to be very nosey and cause un-needed drama with each other. You can't keep much to yourself without people finding out and making their own assumptions on the topic and spreading it around by word of mouth (and social media) to others. Its something that can become very, very annoying and unwanted... but those things also helped me grow a thicker skin--I learned not to care what people think of me and to just do what makes me happy regardless of what others think or say.

Ishpeming High School is also a school centered around sports--mainly football. The parents, teachers, and students have always been infatuated with athletics. One down side to this is that many non-athletic students are considered "unpopular" and are even treated differently by the teachers and staff of IHS. Some people assume that the non-athletes are not as great of kids as the athletes because they have too much time on their hands that isn't spent at practices or playing games. This is not always the case, but many people see it to be so.

I also learned from attending IHS and living in a small society that I wanted to attend an out of state college so I could experience new environments, cultures, and people. Doing so has broadened my horizons dramatically. I now get to live in and experience two different environments at school and at home.
The teachers at IHS are great. I would give them a 5 star rating if they provided more of a challenge. I do not believe I was challenged enough by some teachers in high school, and that was hard on me when I entered my first year of college. I really enjoyed all of my teachers socially--they're all very caring and sweet. They go above and beyond outside of the classroom to make sure their students feel secure in all aspects.
