It was a pretty good school. It was challenging since it is a different method of learning. You basically learn by yourself but there are teachers available if you need help on something. It is done through units in where you have to complete 10 for each course in one year. Some courses may have different amount of units, but a majority are worth 10 units. Now, the great thing about this school, is that it is dual credit. There is no better way than gaining experience for college by doing college. You are given the chance to take college level classes but it is not required. You can even earn up to an associates while in highschool, which is a great headstart. Another good thing is the food. You don't have to eat your typical highschool food, instead you can utilize the college's cafeteria where there are various foods, including a salad bar. There are also many resources regarding college and universities. They even had college fairs for the students, which is great way to explore.
As a student there for four years, I believe it is a very good school for those who want to advance in education as it offers a system that allows students to graduate with an associate's degree. The school is very small which makes it easy to remember everyone. Work is certainly could be more difficult as it is self-paced; however, the staff will help you stay on track. The only negative thing about the school is the small population of it makes it not only super competitive but ruins the whole high school experience if you care about that. Overall, it is a great school with an amazing staff.
I like that I get to work at my own pace and test out of subjects whenever I want. That lets me have a flexible schedule to work on college work and extracurriculars. I also don't have to wait on those who might not understand the material as quickly. As far as my social life, I've made a good amount of friends. I used to be homeschooled, so I thought that making friends would be difficult, but everyone at school as nice. I have a good relationship with all my teachers, who by the way, go out of their way to make sure I get the all the materials I need to succeed. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for the four years of my highschool experience.
