My son always gets blame without ask what happend or have a look on the camera to see what happend, i dont know what but my son gets the good grade. I move my son to other school for 7th grade
I’m a 8th grader I transferred but this schools has very good teacher they help get engage while still manage to do work. The work for me is not bad. The administration take dress code priority but I’m not too worried about them. The arts teacher like chorus are nice and just like every other teacher.
regents credit can be earned early, but it is available for solely the accelerated track students.
Diversity is notable, as it has Asian, Hispanic, White race students despite being in a dominant Polish neighborhood, though it is quit esegregated in the Beacon Program (G&T).
Facility isn't too great in the main building, being built in 1926, but the south annex (originally for an elementary school but they moved to a new campus across the Long Island Expressway and IS73 acquired the annex in 2014) is newer and has classroom lockers. The south annex (called the S building) is reserved for 6th graders only.
Academics is heavy in reading/writing for non-Beacon students. A "Reading Without Walls" campaign is suggested for every student, to read 12 books with each a different genre outside the student's comfort (hence Without Walls).
I did not enjoy attending this middle school, but I don't represent the student body. I saw many of my peers enjoy it

It was fun, I made some pretty good friends there. The teachers there are really good at their jobs. Very useful and helpful. The food there is the same as any other school.
I will say its very good for the the work and the way this provides us to help our kids in need or students to but some teachers could be little over there heads with anger issues for example my 7 grade teacher has no chill aka ms Kapila but now I am in 8th grade going to high school but still have problems with my math teacher even tho I love math but put that in your other thoughts cause even if your the dummest kid you still will be place in a smart class for your understandings of learning and efforts so don't worry cause Is73 is the place to be aka our school best quote.
The teachers at IS.73 encourage you to do your best and never give up. I'm really satisfied with the service they give us.
I graduated in 2014 as part of the SP program. I was able to take regents Algebra and Earth Science as well as the Spanish proficiency exam. This helped me progress throughout high school as I was already ahead in credits and allowed me to take more AP classes and college credit classes. The environment of the school can be iffy, many students do not care about academics, I barely remember my teachers or the administration. With that being said, I did enjoy my middle school experience.
I am new to this school. The teachers are very good and kind. They helps us whenever we are confused and curious. They didn't only teach us lessons. Beside, make us better young adults. They Help us to find "who we truly are"? I mean our true passion. There was no worries about because it is free drugs zone. It is a big school. Hope u all the best.
Amazing middle school. The teachers are the best, always willing to lend a hand. After school activities are fun and educational.
When I attended I. S. 73 I passed 2 regents test (Common Core- aligned Algebra I- 89, Earth Science- 95) , I was part of Junior Arista, and I even won $100 by joining an essay competition and winning 3rd place. I have few complaints about my school, but one of the more vivid negative memorizes that i have at this school is that, one day in the winter I accidentally put on my boots instead of my sneakers and my gym teacher flipped out on me embarrassing me in front of 6 classes of girls and lowering my grade drastically. So my mom went to talk to him during parent teacher conference and he was very rude to her. My mom was very upset about this experience but she managed to convince him not to decrease my grade that much. Also we didn't have trips through the year, we only had a senior trip that was extremely pricey. However besides this my school and teachers made sure that I was 100% ready for my regents test. They did an after school program to help students who are taking the regents, and actually this really helped me a lot.
when I had went i do not recall there being any clubs
The school was okay but the teachers and staff were not all that great and made the environment uncomfortable.
I mean there should be more clubs
My teachers are out of this world
