If your child has IEP stay away from this school. The bullies here are comming from Administration the psychologist here is very terrible and unprofessional. This school violate my child IEP which is illegal .
Louis Armstrong has great academics, opportunities and teachers however there are behaviorial and safety concerns in the school.
Let's say I regret sending my kids to this school. Too many frustrating events to list. But a mix of not so courteous, unresponsive, unorganized, insensitive, and NO help provided for SHSAT test prep are a few to list my reasons. Definitely switching next year.
The teachers at LAMS are wonderful! The staff and everyone do their part in helping the students. The school is kept clean and we were 3 feet apart. Overall this school is a really good school!
I love it, everyone is so nice, yes sure the bathrooms can be cleaner but thats it, everything else is so AAAA so nice
seems like a good school at first, and it is alright, however it’s cleanliness is nonexistent. roaches are literally everywhere (that is a neighborhood problem but they don’t do anything to prevent the roaches from infesting the school), i’m graduating this year and i haven’t been getting that much info on what’s gonna be going on these last couple of weeks. they don’t push students to do their work, until it’s almost too late and then they start “threatening” them and scaring them into doing work. mental health isn’t talked about enough and they rarely check up on students. another issue is how teachers don’t take certain things seriously. i was called a t*rr*rist because of my religion and there was no repercussions for the classmate who said it to me. slurs are thrown around so freely. honestly this school has affected my mental health so poorly as well, can’t wait to graduate and never be reminded of intermediate school ever again, hopefully.
I didn't really like anything, the people I met usually weren't nice but that's not the school's fault. There is a lot of racism and whether there's diversity or not doesn't matter. People say slurs left and right when they can't and there's no education on the LGBTQ+ or implicit bias.
This is a great school, they do not tolerate bullying at all. The teachers there are very kind, they are very involved in the students learning, the building itself is always clean, especially the hallways. They also have lockers where you can store your books, coats, etc.. and it is a diverse school ranging from Hispanics, Asian, African American, White and more.
kids have bad grades always doing bad things and teachers don't care online is a mess teachers don't care if students miss a class
It was a great school with a wonderful and kind welcoming community although not the most diverse. Academics wise it was alright.
Very helpful and energetic teachers. Always ready to help.Would love if more advance computer programming curriculum added.
I went to Louis Armstrong a few years ago. I have many fond memories about this place. The musical education is amazing and many of my friends go to prestigious musical high school. However, in aspects other than music, the school's education on stem is found lacking.
Amazing school. Most teachers are really nice and care about you, also the people there are fun to be around-also house 3 is the best.
I really enjoyed going to this school. It was such a great experience that I won't forget. I went there for three years (sixth to eighth grade).
Amazing arts and academics! I am an 8th grader taking algebra and living environment regents classes. I am also in choir 4 days a weeks and in the school musical, as well as 8th grade Vice President. My four years here have been amazing and I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested in a creative unique school full of the nicest people and teachers who will change your lives. Also an academic challenge. If I had the power I would declare Louis Armstrong Middle School the most artistic middle school. And in my four years here I have never seen any form of bullying or exclusion. I you come to this school, be prepared for the best middle school experience a kid could hope for.
Amazing middle school. Very good teachers, they teach you a lot and prepare you well. They have many great things in the school and the kids in the school are smart because in my class 20 kids out of 32 got honor roll including me.
VERY SUPPORTIVE AND MOTIVATING ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS TO GROW IN. TEACHERS ARE VERY HELPFUL AND STUDENTS ARE FRIENDLY WITH OTHER STUDENTS. BIG SCHOOL WITH MANY OPPORTUNITIES AND LONG LASTING IMPRESSIONS.
