Irving Middle School Reviews

Overall the school was pretty good, most teachers genuinely want their students to succeed, however some were pretty disagreeable, although, those were few and far between. For prospective student or rising 7th graders, I suggest that you take as many high school credit courses, e.g. a language, algebra 1 or geometry, etc. Students who take geometry will go on to take Calculus their Junior year of high school should they choose.
I am a student attending this school, and I am very happy with how the school operates and cares for their students.
Irving isn’t the best middle school to be honest. When I attended there, I felt extremely excluded and unwelcomed. One time Irving had this ‘award ceremony’ for the 8th grade teams that I was in where they gave out certificates and candy to people who ‘stood out’ with a ‘personality trait’ (example: most fun person in class) and I’ve never felt more excluded in my life. I was one of the 5 people who didn’t receive an award from that and because if this, I felt invisible and thinking about this award ceremony still saddens me til this day. Irving is also a school that tolerates bullying and discrimination. Irving needs to work on including all students and making them feel worthy of entering this school because I didn’t see my self worth attending the school. Irving also needs to focus ob the mental health of students because thats something they didn’t care about.
