Irving Middle School Reviews
Rating 3.5 out of 5 4 reviews
Irving Middle School is an okay school academics wise, however the school culture can become very intoxicating. Not only were there frequent instances of bullying when I was there, but the intense pressure to conform can be very difficult for a middle schooler. Some teachers were good, some teachers were utterly apathetic (I remember vividly a health teacher who didn't even care that students were watching Netflix on their phones during class!)
I liked going to Irving. The teachers that I liked were excellent people, and I was pushed in their classes to do the best that I could.
I believe the school was good, the teachers were awesome, and the system was good. However, my personal experience was not good. If you cannot stand up for yourself and be a confident person you get lost in the crowd, so shy quiet people get the blunt end of the experience. The population is extremely diverse and cliques start to form that kids may not have been used to in elementary school. It's easy to feel left out if you are not loud.
