Irvin High School Reviews
Rating 3.68 out of 5 189 reviews
Irvin High School has an amazing education program, so my experience has been exceptional. We have programs that are open to those who academically excel and programs for freshmen looking for a college degree. There are many teachers and staff who give their absolute best to ensure that students get the education they need and deserve. With their help, handful have passed countless of given tests. In contrast, I believe that our sports programs could improve. Recently, the school teams have been victorious in their games and tournaments. By bringing home more trophies, I believe the school can gain more popularity. Irvin High School also offers a handful of extracurricular activities for everyone. With the right motivation, students can truly find something that will work for them. Overall, I would love to see a change in student activity. I think that more students should get involved in programs and clubs that are offered at the school to further enhance their skills.
My experience at Irvin High School would be mostly positive, I've gotten great teachers and I've met such amazing people that I'm glad to call my friends. There's a program they have that is called OnRamps, which is connected to the University of Texas at Austin, it's a program where students can partake in the college experience while being in high school, although I didn't enjoy it too much in my junior year, as it was really stressful and there was so much assignments to do, it was so overwhelming, that I didn't get to finish all my assignments and I didn't pass the college portions of those classes. In my senior year I had two OnRamps classes but I dropped out of one of them for my second semester, but I stayed in my OnRamps Chemistry class as my teacher did a super job at having everything organized and had a calendar for us to let us know what was coming up, which I think is what all OnRamps teachers should do.
Overall it's a great school, it may have a bad reputation but it's really an amazing school filled with unique instructors and students who are very passionate individuals. I graduated in 2023 and Irvin high school has been by far one of the most warm and welcoming schools I've attended. The staff is caring and passionate about there jobs and they have plenty of exciting extracurriculars. I'm proud to be an Irvin high school alumni.
