Teachers are extremely helpful and will go the extra mile as long as they see you are willing to put in the hard work as well. There are two PO's on campus at all times to keep the campus safe and secure. Classes and courses are geared toward college readiness almost completely. It is wonderful for those of us going on to 4-year universities, but programs which have the potential to provide different career paths are being weeded out. Driver's Education was cut 2 years ago and JTED courses are rumored to be gone soon. There are Smart Boards in 95% of classrooms, portable laptop stations, and students get their textbooks to keep at home (students don't have lockers). I definitely feel teachers should be paid for sponsoring clubs like NHS, Key Club, ect. (as they are at nearby schools). Overall, my experience at Ironwood Ridge has been great because I want to go far in my education and I strongly believe the classes and people I have met have increased my drive to succeed!

Ironwood Ridge High School offers an average high school experience. There are probably better options to send your child to, but if you live in the area and are looking at public schools, they're all pretty average with their small differences that, depending on what you're interested in, can make a big difference. If you're interested in art or sports, you'll love Ironwood. The art teachers do phenomenal work with their small budget, and every teacher is accommodating if you do sports. Other than that, it's just like every other poor school in a state that ranks 48/50 in education; it more or less sucks and is overrun with drug issues. But really, you'll find that at any high school in the area. That's just Arizona's average high school.
It was a very good environment with ton of competition to better yourself in academics, sports, clubs, and extra activities! There's something for everyone and its a part of a growing community where the parents and local businesses are very supportive and involved.
