Ironwood Ridge High School Reviews
Rating 3.79 out of 5 636 reviews
I have gone to Ironwood Ridge for all four years of high school. I have participated in the school's pomline for all of those years and have had a great experience. My teachers have all helped me to succeed as a student while also preparing me for what comes next at college. The school offers dual enrollment classes to Juniors and Seniors, through the local community college, which will have allowed me to complete 25 college credits by the time I graduate in May. Also has a Nursing Assistant program that will allow me to graduate as a Licensed Nursing Assistant as well. The student life is great! There are pep rallies, fun school dances, and many activities to participate in on campus. The National Honor Society offers free tutoring for students who are struggling with classes to help them get back on track as well. Overall my experience at Ironwood Ridge has been very good.
I cannot give less than two stars because this school shaped my high school experience - one I look back on with an incredibly positive attitude. My high school career was faced with trials and tribulations, ones that my school both succeeded, and failed in accommodating. Firstly, in an incredibly wealthy school district, they lack the funding to provide the student body with personal laptops. However, they have these laptops locked away in classrooms to be used during class time. In the wake of the global pandemic this became problematic as many students - myself included - did not have the means to log onto classes every day. Teachers had out-of-date lesson plans, lecture based teaching, and lackadaisical classroom structure that contributed to a lack of creative thinking, and learning. I am forever grateful for the relationships I built in those halls, and the memories I will take with me into my adult life, which Ironwood Ridge presented me with.
Overall I’d say my experience at Ironwood was fairly positive! Unfortunately there’s been a lot of changes recently with staff, schedules, and management; but it seems like this year the school is finally starting to see a new “normal.”
There’s lots of people to connect with through clubs and sports- they’re the ones who really made my time at Ironwood, so make sure to put yourself out there!
