Ironwood High School Reviews

Ironwood education prepares students for success, the problem is that there is such a large quantity of relevant courses that it's difficult to choose what to even pick. With very notable Engineering and Sports Medicine courses, Ironwood has exceptional STEM educational opportunities. The International Baccalaureate program is amazing in itself and IHS even provides other collage education programs available to all students with the tenacity to go out and make a name for themselves. Regarding the community, there's just and overwhelming amount of school spirit that makes the campus very lively and involved. Sports overall at IHS aren't the best, yet the school body comes together to cheer through win and loss. My experience with IHS badminton, however, has been rewarding. The badminton team has gone on to win State Championships back-to-back within the past two years. The arts at IHS are also cultivated that even a few artists/bands are rising from the inspiration of the school band!
Having attended Ironwood High School I can, with confidence, say that it is one of the best schools in the Peoria District and potentially the Glendale/Peoria area. I attended another school in the same district, and the experience was not the same. I ran track while I was at Ironwood so I saw many other schools across the Phoenix area. I often spoke to other students at other schools and their high school experience always sounded bland compared to what Ironwood offered. The amount of academic, religious, and recreation clubs at Ironwood is immense and I tend to look back and wish I did more. Facilities are always in good condition and I only had one teacher I didn't like! Ironwood also gave plenty of flexibility for online classes of which I took two. There is a special area of the library designated to these classes. I have few suggestions for improvement but I will say that the district's lack of funding showed in an absence of some classroom resources like textbooks.
Some of my best memories were with the band and how involved and positive the band was. Truthfully, it was really all thanks to the director for making such an extreme impact. And other students that were not in band would still support the band. l remember people's reaction once they learned I was in band, they were super excited for me and nine times out of ten they said the band was their favorite part of our football games. That really helped a lot because being a multi-instrumentalist is hard in itself and having support from people I did not even know, made a world of difference for my passion. I noticed I was happier and more motivated to do my classes and with my home life. Bad thing was, expenses for being in the band was very pricy. Financial wise it was a little hard to keep up with.
