Iron Academy has been revolutionary for our two sons. Their work ethic, character growth and academic ability has been so improved that I can't speak highly enough of IA. You'll never find a school more focused on having a culture of good character, and designed for young men to succeed in a Godly future. We have no reservations whatsoever in encouraging any family interested in its goals to pursue Iron Academy for their sons.
My son is a graduate of Iron Academy and I have seen him flourish academically in college due to his preparation at IA. Success in college isn't based so much on intelligence but on time management skills and dedication to overcoming obstacles if you don't understand something, and I say that as a parent and as a tenured college professor myself. My son had great academic preparation at IA, but also through the honor code atmosphere, developed a mindset to strive to do his best in all situations. While a smaller high school does have limited resources such as fewer AP courses than the larger private schools will have, IA more than makes up for that with the close relationships that the students and parents have with the faculty and administrators. My son often drops by IA to talk to his former teachers and administrators and feels comfortable continuing to ask them to pray for him for any needs.
Our family is impressed with the way this school program is uniquely tailored to meet the educational needs of young men. They offer a comprehensive program that fosters their natural curiosity as a focal point of learning, this creates student-led learning and interest in the subjects being taught. They also provide for physical activity throughout the day, improving the mental alertness and readiness of the students. The teachers are highly engaged with the students and go above and beyond to meet each student's needs and make the material interesting. Importantly, each aspect of the school is effectively tied in with the honor code and results in very well rounded student growth to prepare these young men to be successful men when they graduate and move on to the next phase of their life. We feel that the school is in a caring partnership with our family to prepare our son for each step in this important time in his life (high school).
My experience at Iron Academy was pretty good. I really want to get in the school because it is a well bible base school and the teachers and student care about how u learn. I want to make a different and become a great student at Iron Academy.
The Administration is very nice so far. I have not officially attended any of the classes yet but I was able to do a shadow day of the school and I was very impressed with the students behaviors. I am rating the survey on my experiences. However, I am looking forward to attending this school in the near future.
Wonderful experience for my son. He is able to be around great male role models who are intentional in the classroom and outside the classroom. He has been able to enjoy school wide camping trips, develop life long friendships, play on some great sports teams, grow in his faith and into a strong young man.
My son started at Iron Academy this past year, and everyone who knows him makes comments on the personal growth they observe in him. The positive peer pressure by committed student leaders, the emphasis on discipleship, the challenging academic environment, and the loving faculty and staff make IA one of the most unique schools in the country. We feel so blessed to be a part of the Iron family!
I have 2 sons in high school at Iron Academy and they both LOVE it! They have been to several schools in the Raleigh and Wake Forest area and have never truly felt 'at home' until they came to Iron Academy. We recommend it to all of their friends.
The strong Christian values and honor code culture at Iron Academy is what drew us to enroll our high schooler. It was absolutely the best decision we have ever made for him! He loves the school, the teachers and his Iron Academy brothers and we have seen remarkable growth in our son since he has started attending this school. A true answer to our prayers!
Having our son attend Iron Academy has been the best decision! The teachers and administration truly care and invest in our son to help him meet his full potential - not just academically, but personally as well. The student leadership style better prepares the young men for real world circumstances and interpersonal dealings. The educational style prompts students to think outside the box, and work in collaboration with their peers and teachers in a comfortable, inspirational setting. The best way I can think to describe Iron Academy is a holistic approach to teaching and growing a fine young man! We are so thankful for the difference it has made in our son (and our family)!
This is a school that knows how to train boys to be men. The foundation of the school is the honor code, which is drilled into every aspect of school life. While it is not as strong academically as other schools in the area, we believe it is doing an adequate job preparing our high school student for college.
I am blown away by how I've seen boys become young men, almost overnight. The honor code is so fundamental to the culture, it's difficult to put in terms people from other schools can relate to.
I love the honor code and how my son is learning to apply it to his life. Because the honor code prompts integrity those attributes trickle down into all aspects of his life. His choice are God centered. He is a tribe leader. He's learning how to more disciplined academically and his friends or peers keep each other accountable.
Iron Academy is an excellent school with personalized focus and attention on each young man who attends. My son has grown both academically and in maturity by leaps and bounds by being at this school. If you're high schooler doesn't say, "I love Mondays because it means going back to school!", you should consider sending him to Iron Academy.
