Wonderful school and staff! My kids thrived at Iowa High School. Even earned multiple college credits while enrolled as high school seniors. They definitely prepared my kids for college and the work force. Administration kept us parents in the loop of everything happening school related.
Iowa High is a small school with a good administration. Things I would improve: availability of STEM program, partnerships with local refineries to give students the opportunities to learn more about different engineering jobs..I would also encourage and atmosphere for change. Iowa tends to do things the way they have always been done without giving the student body or parents a chance to make changes in things that effect the students’ experience. It should be more of a democracy.
There were a lot of factors that played into my high school experience. I spent majority of my time with the band, so evaluating the rest of the school wasn’t a top priority of mine. I enjoyed playing music with my friends, despite not liking the lunch food or fighting with the janitor that’s been working there for as long as my parents could remember. I had a good high school experience besides some poor issues with the school itself.
