Iowa City High is a great campus full of insanely talented individuals. Students work together at this school to produce works better than many smaller universities. That being said, that also makes the school quite competitive
Iowa City High is a very interesting environment to be set in, the school itself is beautiful, the architecture is amazing and the facilities are great. Teachers work hard to create a safe environment where all students from a variety of backgrounds can educate themselves. There is a huge selection of clubs and activities to choose from that provide for a really welcoming and enriching ambience. Iowa City High School has a long history, and with that history in mind the institution works hard in order to keep itself accountable to be one of the best schools in the area. Whats stopping it from being excellent is the fact that there are a few rough spots as to be expected from any public school, money is needed and sometimes is not allocated to the most beneficial areas. All in all, a great school and one to definitely look into for anyone in the Iowa City School District area.
I think Iowa City High School is a great place to go because the teachers and staff are very supportive. There are many activities from sports to art that you're able to get into, and each one is pretty well-funded. The environment at Iowa City High School is very welcoming too, and I have enjoyed being a student. The only area they lack in is their guidance department. I feel like I was set back because I wasn't aware of the ACT or SAT until late into the Junior year of high school, and because of that, I haven't been able to apply to as many scholarships as I would like to. They also have a limited amount of AP classes, which I wish they would expand.
