Inwood Early College for Health & Information Technologies Reviews
Rating 3.62 out of 5 21 reviews
If you plan on pursuing a technical career, then this is definitely the high school for you. The school does have elements of medical and health studies, but it isn't at the same level as technological classes. The teachers for the most part are great and some faculty, but the school is very unorganized. The grading system is strange and changes quite often, which is definitely an issue in terms of transcripts for college. For extracurriculars, sports are good. But for the arts and music, it's basically non-existent, which is a shame. It's possible to earn college credits while at this school, which is nice, but it isn't guaranteed that all colleges will accept your credits; and if you plan on going to the partnered college after graduation for a free associates, you can only take courses that align with the school's subject, so technology or health, which is disappointing. You can't take tailored college classes in this school-- they make many false promises.
Inwood is an amazing school. The staff and the opportunities that you are offered are impeccable. The principal, Dr. Tait makes sure that she strives to get all her students to surpass their goals. The staff are all a team and come together and build a home for us in the school and that’s something most students can appreciate.
I can’t really complain much about my experience at Inwood Early College. I love the fact that this school allows you to take college courses aside from your regular high school courses. This is great because not only do you get a head start in college, but it also prepares you for college course material. This school has outdone itself in preparing their students for post-secondary education. This school is also good students who would like to pursue a career in technology. They have lots of computer labs, and they have many different courses related to CTE; including HTML/App Development, Computer Science, Information Systems, the list goes on. However, I do wish this school had more variety when it comes to the arts. Their art/music department is lacking; they only have one Drama teacher and I just wish they had more variety.
