Intrepid college prep is a very communal school. Rarely is there any drama and if there is it dies down within a week. In addition, the school takes safety very seriously and whenever there is a sign of danger towards the students, the administrators and teachers make sure to handle the danger appropriately.
Intrepid is nice. It's a somewhat small school, and a little noisy, but it has a welcoming community :)
The best part about intrepidcollegeprep was that the teachers and staff would like try to help you the best they could. They would also give us tips for college. For example, in freshman year they would tell us I’ll try to keep your grades up because it will help you throughout your senior year. They always pushed us to study and focus on our academics. Some of the worst parts of the school is how small the building is because it gets crowded very easily but overall it’s a well school. Some changes I would like to see from the school would be the dress code kind of in a way because the jackets are kind of pricey, and the shirts to. I just prefer the school just to let the students wear whatever they want it.
i have been at intrepid since 5th grade up to now a senior. it was honestly pretty stressful but the teachers really do help you through everything. your voice is more heard and they take time with you. they especially help you even more when your in highschool. at times it a very good enviroment because i gre up with almost everyone in my classes weve been comming here since middle school and its a small school so everyone knows everyone.
Intrepid College Prep put me through a lot. They are both good and bad but I wish they had a better bullying system. My friend was blamed for bullying when she really didnt do anything. She would never say anything racist or hurt people. Her getting suspended made me really hate this school. The only reason why I would rate it a 2 is because of them preparing me for college such as showing us how college is really going to be. The problem with the school has to be the amount of homework we have because they give us little to no break which takes a toll on students mental health. This school can use a lot of improving an if it's still open in the future I wont bother sending my children here.
Very good school when it comes to college readiness, discipline, and college preparation classes. They could work on including extra-curricular classes such as art class and having more clubs that appeal to more groups of people.
This school mostly focus on helping the students for college. But, some teacher fail to teach the actual material and it cause people to fail. Sometimes students try to speak about it and they do nothing. Overall the school is doing well but they are strict in school uniform and etc.
My experience at this school changed throughout the years. Prior to coming here, I thought it would be better than public schools and push me towards succession. However, being new here and meeting other people I realized we are seen as just money, and for these charter schools "scholars" are just eir way of business. I often find myself complaining and comparing this school to what could have been. This school by no means allows for you to have a pre-route / helps you accelerate. I dislike how they treat their staff and the lack of professionalism. They are very biased towards students as well. I am grateful for my teacher Benett who continues to teach me government and real-life lessons that I could use for my benefit. I'm also thankful for the dual enrollment course, although I wish there were more APs and honors considering this is a "college prep school."
This high school is perfect if all you want to do is go to college, they manage all of your classes and you have little control over what classes you are actually put in. However, they put you in classes where they think you will succeed or where you need credits. For clubs there is almost nothing. You have the bare bone basic clubs, along with some clubs that might seem out of the ordinary, but there really isn't many options to choose from. Some of the teachers there to watch you grow as a person, and with others it is apparent that they hate their job, which they make painfully obvious. The councilors are decent, and offer solid and realistic advice for score, credits, and classwork and where you might see yourself in the next couple of years. The community is very tight, and almost everyone knows everyone. Its hard to walk the halls and find someone that you believe to have never seen before. Overall, if you want to go to college, and not do social things, this is perfect.
the best Alternative school for my child, overall I am satisfied with what I am seeing so far. currnlety my child attending online due to COVID 19, Still my child learning so much already.
Great school with supportive teachers! I am very proud to be sending my child to Intrepid and recommend this school to everyone!
My second year at the intrepid high school, Independence Academy and this school is still a disappointment. Its my sophomore year and I feel like this school will not prepare me for college. This school is so extra for no reason. I’d love to leave and i hope i will next year.
The school in general is a good school but needs to offer more to the students. The teachers in this school have all been very supportive of all the students that attend and are always willing to help.
This school feels like a nightmare I feel like I'm not getting education .Very disrespected and gross food!demerits are the most horrible thing. Don't go to this school!
This school is an honest disappointment. It takes away originality and personality. Most teachers here are very disrespectful. You honestly don’t have most teachers. You can’t say bless you or clap to congratulate people you have to snap. There is no break to relax and they are very strict. I know it’s a school but don’t make it another thing kids are worried about or stressing them every single moment. The founder of the school brought her dog to school and it was roaming in the halls and in the cafeteria. One that is very unhygienic, two what if there is a kid who is allergic to dogs. They will break in hives. This school doesn’t even care about the kids.
This is my first year and I’m highly disappointed in this school. There is a lack of respect between students and teachers. They tell you this is going to help you prepare for college but it doesn’t. It’s just busy work. That’s all they give you. There is 0 respect teachers give to students. There is also a merit and a demerit system that is completely flawed. Where teachers can throw out demerits. If you have below a 79 you are eligible for Friday extension where you have to stay after school on Friday. You even get a -10 for missing school one day and that drops you down to an 80 so one more demerit and you have Friday extension. We also did not have a teacher for a semester for our physics class. After we finally get a teacher he quits. There is also teacher preventing students so they get in trouble. They tell us to act like young adults and they barely treat us like it. There is no freedom in this school. This has honestly been my worst experience at a school
I like about intrepid is that you get to have close relationships with teachers and students. What I would like to see change in this school is more classes to choose from and have teachers that stay.
