large range of academic programs to fit the level of each child. Very supportive teachers who make true connections with their students. accredited programs that are accepted by top notch colleges. My daughter was able to finish a year early with the support of IVLA instructors and received a scholarship to Baylor University that we simply could not refuse. If mainstream education isn't a good fit for your child for whatever reason, this is the school for you. If your child loves mainstream and needs to catch up on classes, this is the school for you. Since this school has all the necessary accreditations, the courses transfer. You can tailor the education to fit your exact needs. It was a life savor for my children during a time when everyone was struggling. While the American education was getting worse, my kids were getting top notch. And I just wanted to say Thank You to IVLA and their team.
I studied in IVLA for several years, and really enjoyed the staff and format of my learning. I especially enjoyed my English classes, which have instilled a love for literature I have to this day. If I was to pick anything to change, I would recommend more clubs and extracurricular activities.
IVLA has supportive and understanding teachers. They really understand the importance of working with their students, while encouraging them to do their best on everything, whether it’s a class, club, or sport. By being the National Honor Society’s President for two consecutive school years (junior-senior years), my leadership skills were tested everyday, where in the end, they thrived. I’ve applied these skills to my day to day life, whether that is in class at my University, on the tennis court, or simply any conversation or discussion I may have with another person. With IVLA’s help, I’ve learned what it’s like to be responsible, manage due dates, write sophisticated emails (to future employers), and to ask for help when it’s needed. IVLA definitely helps all ages realize the importance of education and the end goal of life itself, success. Without IVLA, I simply would not be the same person that I am today!
IVLA gave me the freedom and motivation to study whenever and wherever. Being able to take my schoolwork anywhere with me and travel to places and still study was so nice. I hit a rough patch during the last year of my studies and all of my teachers were all amazing and so supportive helping me navigate my extremely changed lifestyle. If for whatever reason my daughter has to attend online school, she will 100% go to IVLA.
We chose IVLA after careful consideration when we decided to school our student at home. It has been a great choice. The curriculum meets our state’s requirements and gave us a step by step method to homeschooling. After completing 1st and 2nd grades, we are very pleased. He reads above grade level, his math level appears significantly above his peers in the neighborhood, and he has gained age-appropriate critical thinking skills. IVLA had a way to provide an elective in Spanish for him in 1st grade. In all subjects, the assignments tended to capture his interest. The teacher, Mrs. Webster, was wonderful! She provided feedback on nearly all assignments. She would also give suggestions. IVLA made it easy for him to keep up with his assignments when we had to travel. While he will attend the local school this fall, we will certainly place him back with IVLA if we are not fully confident in what we observe in the public school.
Would like to see more video tutorials. Honors classes are not very challenging, but I guess that is the US school system curriculum.
My journey in International Virtual Learning Academy (IVLA) has been great. I love that a success coach is appointed to students, that there are tutoring sessions, and social hours. The courses are laid out beautifully to make the lessons understandable. The teachers are also very helpful and they check in with students. I don't have a bad experience so far.
IVLA was a true gift to my educational journey. My teachers were immensely supportive and the curriculum was straightforward and easy to follow. The best part of my experience at IVLA was certainly getting to work with my course instructors. They were always eager and willing to help, and I was never worried about not receiving a response from them in a timely manner. They definitely made independent learning feel less lonely!
International Virtual Learning Academy was a perfect fit for our child, who was a high performer, but needed a flexible schedule. Lectures, course activities, and exams are available online 24/7 -- offering students and parents the ability to tailor school schedules to their own lifestyles and needs. The courses are challenging, engaging, and a terrific value given the relatively low tuition compared to most brick and mortar private schools. Our child's teachers and success coach were always available to help and they encouraged him each step of the way right up to graduation. IVLA is ideal for students who travel frequently to participate in sports activities or the arts, as well as individuals who simply focus better in a flexible home environment. We highly recommend IVLA to any parent or student considering an online school.
IVLA provided our son with a rigorous education preparing him incredibly well for college. We know without a doubt that the courses he took and assignments, projects, and books he read were at or above then level of rigor he would have received at a traditional high school. The teachers made him feel like a valued member of the school community and were quick with feedback on his assignments or with tutoring opportunities. We honestly don’t have a single negative experience to report.
My kid is super happy and motivated to work on IVLA every day. Unlike her previous school, she feels that she learns at IVLA.
Nothing but wonderful things to say about IVLA! Every staff member you interact with is kind, helpful, and soliton oriented. I would recommend IVLA to others in a heartbeat!
IVLA has been an excellent school choice for us for the last 4 years After many years of positive experiences at their brick and mortar school, this choice for us came with hesitation. This change occurred at a time where our family desired more flexibility for their extra curricular activities and for travel abroad. I soon realized that this was an excellent decision. The teachers are exceptional, providing timely feedback and really care about the intellectual growth of their students. The curriculum is challenging and continued to engage my daughters interest, simultaneously allowing for the opportunity to master independent learning , time management and digital literacy . IVLA has been such a blessing for us and we are looking forward to the next couple of years until graduation!
I haven't been in the school for long but everything I've seen I've loved like the frequent art contests, the pen pals, newspaper every month, home rooms where your whole grade joins a call for fun, and how they teach sweetly and kindly but I still learn. I haven't been here long but I've loved everything and I wouldn't change a thing.
IVLA ended up being the best alternative for my son following Covid and him returning to a standard school. He was able to choose the best way for him to learn online and worked closely with Heather Schoenherr, his Success Coach, to stay on pace, make changes as needed and given a way to learn that was best for him. I can't say enough great things after experiences with other schools.
We absolutely love the school for both of our kids. They are very understanding and accommodating with how the kids learn best. The program itself is top notch and they learned stuff in middle school I never saw until high school back in the day.
My daughter has been thriving since she started at IVLA. She is understanding the material and has gained more confidence. Our experience with the teachers, as well as her success coach has been fantastic!
Hi, my name is Eelia I'm a primary student here at International Virtual Learning Academy. I think the school is great and it's good because there aren't any teachers that scream at you if you did a mistake you can just try again and repeat the class and learn. Another reason is that the teachers are fun that you can listen to. And you can choose extra classes if you want to but you have to do 4 classes that the school gives which is great! I think I got this good writing from the school I wasn't really good in the past well that's all thank you.
We like that these are recorded lessons, giving us the structure but allowing us to add on to the curriculum ourselves. Good support from the coaches.
I absolutely loved this school, everything about it the community, the learning aspect, and the teacher were all amazing. The only partially negative thing about it is the learning process is a little different than other school’s. For example I had taken 8th grade math at ivla and loved it, the only problem is that whenever I went into my freshman year of highschool at a different school and the math that they had learned the year before was a little more advanced then that I had learned at ivla. But other than that it was amazing and I loved the experience!
