ISLA has been such an incredible school for our children. Our kids love going to school, the staff is incredibly loving, nurturing and skilled. I’m so impressed with the IB curriculum and the reflection on being an engaged and caring global citizen. I also am so impressed with how strong my daughters’ Spanish has become! What a gift it is to have the ability to communicate in two languages. Also, I have loved the community. People care about each other and the well being of each other’s kids. The leadership it ISLA is beyond impressive and really cares about parent engagement and feedback. I feel like the school really cares about the whole family. I am so incredibly grateful for this strong academic opportunity for my kids.
Wonderful school! Nearby districts/schools may have more resources or sheer affluence, but ISLA's unique IB curriculum and passionate teachers make it soar above the rest. Very rare to find a school that combines full Spanish immersion with a well-rounded, internationally minded curriculum. It also has a very community-type feel, and everyone looks out for each other. More staffing is needed at the Admin level, though.
This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to become fluent in the fastest growing language in the world. Most classes are taught by native Spanish speakers so my daughter's accent is perfect. Not only are the kids exposed to language, they are exposed to different cultures and gain a world view. We live in a very non-diverse neighborhood so sending our daughter to our neighborhood school would have really limited her experiences. The diversity at ISLA is amazing and the families are absolutely wonderful. She will truly be prepared to live in a world where many cultures can come together in harmony.
I'm so excited about the amazing opportunities she has at this school and can't believe we have it available here in Minnesota.
