LILA is an incredible school! We have two children enrolled. While our family has no french background, we fully subscribe to the international curriculum and focus on critical thinking. Initially we were a bit intimidated by not having french spoken at home, but we were warmly welcomed & assured by the diversity of the school families. We are consistently surprised how quickly the language comes to our kids. The teachers & staff are dedicated and their love for the children is apparent. The parent community is very active & diverse with plenty of opportunities for engagement. During the initial lockdown, the school pivoted quickly to e-learning and over the summer had refined & improved the experience. We now have a first-hand view of the teacher interactions with the class and remain impressed with how energized and committed our teachers are. We anxiously await the schools to open for in-person learning for the older grades and have full faith in the school to do so safely.
We love this school! Great community. Dedicated teachers. Our son has learned so much here. We have made lifelong friends with many families.
LILA offers a bilingual French-International education, with the choice of taking the French Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate, creating a very rigorous, demanding, and global curriculum. It is a very small school, with a little over 300 students. As a current IB student myself, I think this school does a lot to prepare you for the globalized society we're living in today. However, you should note that this school only offers AP EXAMS, not COURSES. The education is very Eurocentric. If you don't speak French at home, take the IB. Otherwise, if you're a French citizen, you might as well take the FB
