At the International Leadership of Texas Keller Saginaw High School, every student is encouraged to choose challenging classes like AP classes that they will most likely succeed in. When a student struggles in class many teachers help. In some cases students help to and tutor. I myself have tutored other students in Spanish and Chinese as my school teaches three languages. Teachers are very passionate about what they teach and want the student to learn to the best of their ability. They care about the education given and build on it. The school offers many opportunities for volunteer work with clubs and extracurriculars that build up your resume for when applying for college. Counselors there help with schedule changes and if you have any troubles they are there to listen. Many teaches have left the school to pursue other opportunities but we learn the best we can with what we are given. Overall this school prepares you for college and you receive a new found sense of responsibility.
It’s a good school for a rather specific type of student since it’s a school that’s mostly focused on academics but not so much the arts. They also have a big problem with keeping teachers here at ILT so whenever I help tutor students, they may not know the fundamental basics like algebra in order to understand pre-calc.
Besides the bad of the school, it does have good qualities like the MCJROTC program, a competitive dance team, a lot of teachers do care about their job but unfortunately leave due to financial reasons.
This is a school that is well designed for people like me that want to focus more on STEM, AP classes, debate and such. This is not a school for those who want to pursue the arts, there just isn’t good funding for things like theater.

A good school with a good concept, however execution is poor. The only issue with the campus specifically is lack of communication and teachers. Some teachers aren't qualified for their positions or don't teach well to most students. The main issue is with district, their communication, expectations, and ideas. While in theory most ideas are fine or good for the students, most fail under poor execution.
What I enjoyed was how we all were in advanced classes, and we had the opportunity to learn two languages each year. I did not like the lack of creative electives and not many ap classes.
The community you will find at this school is excellent and very diverse. However, there needs to be more communication within the administration. With the lack of funding, the school needs more resources to hold different clubs students might be interested in. The teachers work very hard with what little they are given from the school. They are overworked with a small paycheck until they are forced to leave, leaving the school to hire less passionate and sometimes unqualified teachers. Academics are the main thing this school can live up to, and the school has sports, but if you were trying to become a professional athlete, look into a different high school. The school does provide counselors that can help with college, but they are only fully involved with the college in your senior year. The food the school gives is mediocre, not different from the average high school, but it could be better. There are some issues with the bathrooms.
This school had a lot of potential for students who want to succeed in business or corporate careers. Sadly, more than half of the staff, including the principle, handled all situations that arose in this high school poorly. They tricked students, manipulated them, and essentially forced them into discipline. I went to the NRH K-8 location and had a fair experience there. My perception on the high school was much different. The staff is only worried about saving themselves rather than saving the students who struggle every day. I have, however, formed good relationships with previous teachers, but that doesn't account for the stress previous teachers had engraved onto me. A former teacher, who was once my teacher whom I favored, said that the staff and higher authority views the students as statistics rather than people.
I like the academic focus in the school and how they strive to make the students better. They try their best to make it a good place for everyone and correct the bad behaviours of students. I think their academic system and curriculum is very high standard. The only problem is their lack of teachers, they need to have all their teachers complete, ready and prepared for the year. They should not be missing teachers when the school year start because this affects the student's learning and puts the behind. they should also investigate their teachers more and bring in qualified staff not just anyone who applies.
At the beginning of my experience at ILTexas, I thoroughly enjoyed having my education there. I had well educated teachers who allowed me to thrive, however recently there has been a drastic decline in the quality of teachers at the school. Furthermore, the school administration has stopped caring as much about how they treat their students and the things I liked about the school have basically disapeared.
From my four year experience of going to ILTexas, I honestly liked everyone I met there. The education system for the school is very good, really preparing its students for college level courses and learning from the earlier years in high school. Admittedly, the school is still poor in terms of it's culture and some of the administration staff, but overtime I believe those flaws can be fixed with the proper help! But overall the school is very great, and to the parents who are looking for their kids to go into college and have a successful future, ILT would be a great school to help those kids succeed and grow not only academically, but mentally for when they go into college.
ILTexas allowed us to explore different leadership roles and learn Chinese and Spanish. I really liked the fact that we could explore different elective courses. I didn’t like the long hours and workload given by the teachers.
The school is really good, however I was without a geometry teacher for a whole semester and when we finally hired one he was then fired no less than a week later. The school should do better when it comes to background checks.
This school leaves much do be desired in many aspects. The most troublesome aspect of this school is how strict the administrators are in comparison to how poor of results they are able to achieve. The college resources are amazing, but everything else is simply horrible. if you live in a bad school district, then this may be a viable alternative for you, but for your average person, the surrounding districts are a much better option.
As a student involved in ILT KSHS thoroughly, in the JROTC program, band, and as a student-athlete, I will encompass nearly every aspect this school provides.
This school is great in the academic standpoint. They hire teachers/faculty that want to make an impact in the students’ lives and future. We also have ASP (Academic Success Program) which provides help in english and math and is an excellent program to promote college readiness.
I also love how the clubs/activities are nearly all student led. There are tons of opportunities in electives, clubs, and sports teams.
A major thing I would change (I think this goes for all of ILTexas) is the not so great communication. The communication on work is unclear and hard to follow, which can lead to you getting behind (especially for online learners during Covid). Events are also not described well, such as sporting events/schedules.
Overall, this is a very good school and I am glad to have chosen this school to further my education.

From the time that I had entered the school as a junior I had found many opportunities to have a better chance at getting into the college I want with their college services being very good and knowledgeable and with them not only having JROTC but with every grade having a leadership class this school creates opportunities that students can take. They also have us learn two of the most used languages in the world which allows us to view other country's cultures with even some being able to travel to them.
This is my second year at this school after having spent my middle school years (6th - 8th) in the K8. If I'm honest, a lot of people like to say that the school is really bad, but if you think about it, the teachers are such diverse people, our safety here on campus is much better than at least a public school's, and much more. People say that our teachers don't teach too well and our administration doesn't do their job, but I believe that that is only through the poor efforts of certain students. If a student asks a question to one of them, they will try their best to answer to their fullest. The students here believe that our school is poor, but in a way, whether it really is or not, it encouraged our classmates and Student Council to use their leadership skills and try their best to raise funds. The students are always having fun - especially after finals. The school takes all necessary precautions and more to keep the students safe while also being able to learn at the same time.
My experience with International Leadership of Texas - Keller High School is fair good. Our school excels academic wise because everyone is required to learn Mandarin and Spanish. They also test us frequently to see how much we improve and learn from the beginning of the school year. If one was interested in STEM or foreign affairs, this school would be good. On the other hand, they have a small budget for fine arts and sports. Students most definitely would not be scouted at ILT because we are a charter school in a different division than most schools.
average school. It's a small school bit it's recently been accepting larger grade classes. sports program isn't the best, weak compared to other public schools.
I hate this school. I have been attending there for a year now and all I have ever thought about as soon as I step foot inside that building was, when am I going to leave? There is nothing truly beneficial from their classes or programs of college redinnes. Public schools offer more courses and pathways that can lead you into achieving either a career in college or a profession outside a college. They also offer courses where you can graduate with a certification in a profession, unlike ilt has nothing to offer students.I wouldn't recommend this school at all, it is a disaster. They always try to find a way to punish you over something so small and insignificant either about your clothes or your actions. It feels more like a prison instead of a school. I just want to leave that school by next semester!
The classes are smaller than a usual school so the teachers make sure that you understand the subject that they are teaching. The students are very kind and make sure that you feel welcome.
I like the way that they teach you multiple languages and this education has helped me overall outside of school. But overall I would give the school a poor rating due to the shear incompetence of most teachers and the administration. Moreover when I wanted to transfer schools to another public school they made the process as hard as humanly possible for me to get my transcripts and other necessary things.
