While the academic side of Interlake is certainly strong, the student culture and general attitude taken by both teachers and students need a vast amount of improvement. There is a massive double standard when it comes to gifted and non gifted students, which basically segregates the two groups from one another. On top of this, the teachers do very little to improve the social life of the school, as they punish unharmful behavior while allowing harmful and dangerous behavior to run rampant.

I just completed my freshman year at Interlake and I absolutely loved it. Although Interlake is known as the "IB school" and is considered academically focused, we still have super fun clubs and athletics. The teachers there are amazing. They seem to really care about you and your challenges in high school and are SUPER friendly. AP exams are pretty big in our school. To prepare for these exams, some teachers host review sessions on weekend at school in order to prepare you more for the exams. Yeah, so teachers are great! The administration can be kind of rude once in a while, but most of the time they help you with whatever. All in all, Interlake is a fantastic school with a great, supportive community.
Recently graduated. Interlake challenges their students with their curriculum and the teachers care for the success of their students. The presence of the IB program is viewed positively but not pressed onto the non-IB kids. I'd say majority of the students here hold liberal views, to which is nice, as demonstrated through lgbt+ pride events and such. I generally liked Interlake, however, I personally felt as if I did not belong with groups outside of my inner circle.
