My experience at Insight School of California was one I can say turned my Highschool Academic Experience around! I was a below average student who had no worry or care in the world in my middle school. I was failing just about every class during that time, and was heading in that direction once more. There was many time when I wanted to give up entirely. I knew I could do better, I knew I was smarter and in fact looked as a gifted student in my elementary school. I was letting my family down. In my 10th Grade School Year, I decided enough was enough, I wanted to change my ways. I was enrolled into Insight a couple of weeks in my 10th Grade School Year, and it was the best decision I could make. The teachings was unlike I have experienced. From learning the standard Math and English, to leaning how to Finance and Manage my money is just a few on why I feel Insight is excellent. It prepares the students for the real world like no other brick and mortar, and I will highly recommend.
Great school if you are looking to graduate a little earlier/on time. Teachers are kind and very helpful. The material is simple. The only con would be the fact that you are unable to transfer straight to a 4 year university.
Insight was one of the best schools I’ve ever attended. They went above and beyond for everyone and showed that they cared. They were there for me after my grandma passed away and were very patient with me.
Insight was an amazing experience for me. I am a teen mother and Insight gave me the chance to graduate. I recently graduated in June and I was the student speaker at the graduation. Everyone made me feel so special and spoke very highly of me. I even passed all of my classes with A’s and finished within the 3rd quarter. All of the staff there are amazing people!! They’re all so helpful!! I really recommend Insight!!
I actually really enjoyed this school. It gave me the oppertunity to do classes and courses at my own pace. They provided well qualified teachers who were so helpful when needed. This school also gave me the tools and taught me how to be responsible for my own education.
This is not a school you go to for extracurricular activities. This is an online school, so you are really on your own for extracurricular activities, sports, volunteer, etc.
Everything about this school was stressful. The main reason I decided to do K-12 was because my family was going to travel around California (that's where we lived at the time); however, I was given so much busy work, I didn't have the time to do anything but school work. The teachers were absolutely awful--they weren't helpful, they weren't cooperative, they weren't incredibly friendly, and they were incredibly hard to contact. The students were basically forced to teach themselves.
The teachers were hard to get a hold of and weren't very cooperative. I had teachers give different grades to me based on the same assignment (I would be given a bad grade, I would redo the assignment, and the teacher would look at what I had done the first time and give me a higher grade [without even seeing the new work]). The teachers didn't really teach the students--they would give a presentation on the general outline of what we would be covering; but it would be up to the students to really dive into what we were learning (which is not helpful if you're struggling in a particular subject). The teachers would really only give us busy work, and would be less than accommodating when it came to getting ahold of them to ask questions or when you were looking for your grades. There were two ways to get ahold of the teachers: via k-mail (an email for k-12) and telephone. The teachers would take days to respond to emails (which caused me to become very anxious when due dates of assignments were drawing near), and would not pick up the telephone or would take days to respond to voicemails-- and this is assuming that the teachers would even respond at all. I had to hound teachers sometimes to get anything done or answered.
I would not recommend this school to anyone!!!

Online clubs: bad quality and impractical.
I have my independence, but help is always there.
Most teachers are genuine in their work.
Since this is an online school there is no need for physical saftey measues. Our safety consists of online safety such as cyberbullying. They offer many online sessions regarding online safety regarding cyberbullying which is great.
Since I attend an online school there isn't much opportunity for extracurricular opportunites.
I really like attending California Virtual Academy. It's an online public school and the curriculum is great. I can do my school work on my on schedule and attend class online from by bed in my bedroom if I want.
The teachers are great overall. All of the teachers that I have dealt with always do their best to make sure that everyone understands the material.
