I am a rising senior here at Innovation and it has been one of the best school experiences of my life! A very close knit community, with amazing teachers and staff, and also unique, being one of the only Montessori high schools in Florida. I have also made great friends and have been able to get involved in growing the school, as well as school programs and events!
Innovation Montessori is a pretty great school overall in my opinion. I enrolled in the second quarter of my 9th grade year and it was honestly one of the easiest school transitions I've ever experienced. All my credits and courses were moved pretty seamlessly, but the staff and students are what stood out. By this time in the school year, everyone would've supposedly found their group/clique, but all my classmates were really sweet and funny. When I started at IMHS, I was pretty behind on most of my work. The teachers were always super helpful, and I was back on track in no time with the curriculum they use.
At the beginning of my 10th grade year, there were some issues with one of the teachers making multiple girls-including me-very uncomfortable. We informed the staff and board of this, and that teacher was fired within days. I say this because the staff could've blown it off like other schools I went to in the past did, but they didn't they valued our thoughts and feelings.

I've had a student graduate from IMHS and a currently enrolled middle schooler. IMHS could not have prepared my child better for college. It does depend on your students motivation, each child is different. Mine excelled.
My middle schooler is different and needs a bit more hand holding, but that is where the teachers and I work together.
School has great communication, but parents/guardians need to speak up. You just can't get the direct access to teachers/admin in public schools that you have here.
The children are given opportunities to have a voice and be heard. We have attended both public and Montessori. Bullying is much worse in the public schools we attended.
Of course the extra curricular activities and electives are limited - this is a new grassroots school. Take a tour, do your research.
Montessori isn't for everyone. I'm sure am thankful for the education my children received and are receiving.
