Information Technology & Software Engineering at the Fairchild Wheeler Campus Reviews
Rating 4.05 out of 5 76 reviews
I have lived in Fairfield County and Manhattan for nearly 5 decades. I went to the private schools in Greenwich and my three children have attended various public and privates in different towns throughout FFLD County. The Aerospace program at Fairchild Wheeler is amongst the best schools if not the best school I have found. The principal Jay Lipp exhibits extraordinary passion, knowledge and dedication. He cares so much about the path of each of his students. Fairchild Wheeler offers an incredible opportunity for students offering the best hands on and project based learning in the area. My son’s teachers at FW have worked at NASA, taught at prestigious boarding schools, owned successful business and more and build relationships with their students. If the traditional model isn’t working for your child and you are looking for something different; look no further than this exceptional school.
A high school focusing on the manipulation of data. To me, it was a very much new experience, coming from a small private middle school with less than 60 students. Starting off as a freshman, I had no knowledge of the norm at a public high school or rather, the American society. I also lacked the knowledge of how a normal high school functions when it comes to turning in assignments, how schedules are managed, how the cafeteria worked, etc. It was quite harsh at the start, both academically and socially. But gradually, I adapted into such environment. I came to accept how great this school is. Being a multi-racial school, I did not have to experience discrimination or bullying. That is if I passed the requirements to be a potential victim. With great culture and people, Fairchild Wheeler is a school I recommend for people to go enroll.
The two things that made my experience at Fairchild Wheeler was the semester based classes, and the ability to connect with staff and peers.
With the semester based schedules, I was able to take more courses during high school and focus on each at a time. It also help me prepare for the college breakdown.
During my time, I was able to connect with teachers like you wouldn’t believe. So many teachers were kind, funny, understanding, and involved. Many teachers looked based the books and cared about our personal wellbeing.
