I love my school. The teachers are super helpful. It so easy to see what opportunities you have, both in the academy and in regular studies. The councilors are super helpful and are more than willing to meet with you when ever you need, about anything. The only annoying thing is how easy it is to get lost, but thats easy enough to deal with
Great place if you are enrolled into one of the four Academies. There is a lot of drug usage though, and I hope that our school administration will soon put an end to it.
My experience at Indian Trail High School & Academy was a little more out of the ordinary much like many other recent graduates due to the pandemic. My sophomore year was cut short, my junior year online, then my senior year in-person. Although Indian Trail had its struggles especially in the adjustments throughout the pandemic during my time at Indian Trail I was a good student, received good grades, was involved in many school activities/clubs, and eventually got into the college I currently attend.
I really enjoyed my 4 years at Indian Trail. They’re were many clubs to get involved in and the pep rally’s were great! The student body was relatively diverse and their was a spectrum of different and unique people who attended. The best part about my time at IT was homecoming and prom. There I saw different groups vibing and having fun even if people didn’t know each other which was great! My teachers were awesome and were their if I needed help and support. The counselors were very flexible and there if you had academic or personal issues that you needed to discuss! The worst parts I have to say is when it came to the students concerns about serious issues, they were overlooked and not acknowledged. Some felt as though our voice was unheard. What I would like see change is when students come to administration with a problem that has been persistent and lingering, it is addressed and dealt with so students are in a comfortable and safe environment for learning.
I went to Indian Trail for all four years of high school and made some of the best memories and friends I'll ever have. They have academies within the school as well as the normal high school. So if you want to focus more on certain subjects you can join one of the academies. I personally was in the medical and sciences academy, so lots of my classes were more science based. The staff is great and really care about their students. Sporting events are also a huge thing there and most people enjoy going to football games, basketball games, and so much more! Overall it was a great experience and I learned a lot.
I have attended Indian Trail Highschool and Academy all four years of my high school experience and it is an astronomical school. Every school has things that can be improved but Indian Trail constantly works to minimize that list. The school has provided a multitude of resources for students in every field of study and has numerous clubs for all personalities. The school advocates for all students and supports all aspects of the school. As an African American student, I can say that this school has made me feel welcome and supported. The education system in this school is phenomenal and prepares students for college specifically with the AP courses. Throughout the years I have faced a number of adversities that have been neglected but I do not hold that against the school because of its size and amount of students. Though, in recent years I can not complain about the school's system.
At the beginning I loved the school, and the environment. I started to branch out to people and even made some friends. That was until a fellow student touched me inappropriately. When I reported I got threatened with a harassment lawsuit and laughed at by the officer on duty.
Indian Trail High School and Academy is a good school that provides many opportunities for students. There is also a lot of pizza and cookie sales. Most teachers have good intentions and seek to help their students.
Indian Trail has offered my son and daughter some excellent opportunities for education and sports. I have felt like their teachers and staff as a whole have been generally supportive of my kids' educational goals. The school offered the Medical Science program for my daughter which was a challenging regimen that I believe has better prepared her for college and a future career pursuit. Both children were able to play volleyball and enjoy good disciplines within these sports.
Indian Trail High School offers basically everything you need. Lots of different classes ranging from electives to AP classes, multiple specialized academies to prepare you for your career, and many extracurricular opportunities.
Indian Trail High School and Academy has many fantastic teachers and extracurricular activities. The music program is fantastic, offering many opportunities for students to get involved. Most staff members are very supportive and helpful, and are passionate about what they teach and helping their students succeed. However, staff accountability within the school is poor, which creates an environment where students can feel unsafe.
Indian Trail is a very large school with many diverse groups of people. I believe that something in the school needs major improvement for example the cafeteria food is not amazing it's very poor quality and does not fill you up. The staff and teachers are decent, some can be very helpful while others not so much.
I loved the atmosphere and the fact that we had different wings to our school. We had military, medical science, business, comprehensive, and mine, communications. I also loved our music wing. It was filled with practice rooms and a safe atmosphere. The teachers also made my time at Indian Trail memorable. I made so many relationships that I will cherish forever. The one thing I would change is the organization of serious situations. Everything tends to be last minute, putting the students and staff at risk. I would also change the college prep for seniors. I received little to no help from my counselors when applying to college. I am still finding out so much that I was unaware of when I was in my application stage.
Indian Trail is a pretty good high school. Most of the teachers are very nice and really care for their students but there are definitely some who don't seem to care at all. It is a very clean school, and we have a lot of security guards all around the building so I feel safe there. The lunch is horrible. I have had super undercooked chicken nuggets, moldy cheese, and meat, expired milk, etc. They also run out of food a lot which is unacceptable. We have a lot of class options, like AP, honors, and then several academies, and a great music program. I think the food is my biggest complaint, otherwise I like it there.
I love the idea of being able to pick an academy. It helped set me in the best position for college. It also helps me stand out in regard to classes I've taken compared to most kids who wouldn't have the opportunity to take this classes until they reach college. They also pushed all students to strive for greatness and would always push you to be in the best position you can be for college and even life after.
ITA offers academies that are based on possible future career choices, they offer the military academy for students who would like to enlist, a business academy that runs the school's merch shop that allows for students to be hands-on in the business field, a communications academy that allows students to use editing equipment that they might need in the future, finally is the med sci academy that I'm enrolled in. it has offered us so many courses that enhance our knowledge on the human and animal anatomy. these academies have most of their classes separated from the side of the school who aren't rolled in academies which is a win-lose situation because both sides aren't allowed to take all the elective courses offered, and the academy classes are all honors-level but won't be shown as honors in our transcript or in the way or GPA is calculated which can be frustrating due to the amount of work given. overall its an amazing school with many opportunities for its students
Everything is running smoothly at Indian Trail. Everyone was able to adapt when faced with the many challenges that came with COVID-19. I hope to see everyone safely back in school next year!
