Indian River High School is a great school. The academic environment is great and students are offered many honors, AP and dual enrollment classes. There are many opportunities given for extra help when needed. For example, the enrichment period in the morning and after school hours. The environment socially is very lively. The pep rallies are super fun. There is a lot of school spirit and the students love to support their school during games. On another note there are many clubs that help students become involved with the community. Examples are Flag , Hosa and Leo club, and those are just a few. Over all Indian River High School is a great school that helps prepare students for their future.
I feel that when I attended, the teachers for the most part were willing to help you to get ready for college. I do feel at times they pushed too much on things that in reality don't work in college. But, I did have some great teacher that introduced me to programs that sparked my creativity and leadership development. The lunches there were also pretty good. There was a lower budget, but we made the best of it. The band program was also excellently lead, but I believe that band director has since parted ways. My favorite class was probably honors chem or English. I have a passion for reading, so any class that gave me an excuse to do so, always tops my lists. I recommend getting involved in clubs there because you will meet great people and as long as you respect and support them, you can't go wrong. GO IR!!!
The school is amazing with intelligent teachers and staff ready to do anything for you. Any problems you have, the staff is willing to anything for their students to succeed not only in the classroom but in life as well. The counselors are top-notch with several resources for college and job careers in the summer. If your moving to the beach, be sure to go to IR!
