Indian River High School Reviews

Im only a sophomore but coming from an arts charter school, it has been a very good transition. Indian River meets my expectations of what I thought high school would be. I have gotten involved in FCA, Volleyball, Softball, was nominated by my teachers and won an invite to the Hugh Obrien Youth Leadership Conference, won homecoming attendant as a sophomore, received Academic all conference honors and honorable mention for the Henlopen conference for softball. Im looking forward to the next two years.
I like the amount of pathways that they offer; it’s a wide variety and really helpful for figuring out what you’re interested in. Their health/medicine pathways are excellent as well as business. The business pathway is very insightful as well as the head teacher of business, Mr.Bunting. He is a very qualified teacher. IR also has a variety of clubs and organizations that you can join which I love. Their sports are good. What I would like to see change is not transfer middle school teachers to this high school and make them teach high schoolers; high school is vastly different, especially if the teacher teaches an AP class, so I am concerned with how prepared I will be for the exams.
Indian River High School is a great school. The academic environment is great and students are offered many honors, AP and dual enrollment classes. There are many opportunities given for extra help when needed. For example, the enrichment period in the morning and after school hours. The environment socially is very lively. The pep rallies are super fun. There is a lot of school spirit and the students love to support their school during games. On another note there are many clubs that help students become involved with the community. Examples are Flag , Hosa and Leo club, and those are just a few. Over all Indian River High School is a great school that helps prepare students for their future.
