I love how diverse my school is because we have foreign exchange students who help us to learn more about other countries and cultures. The teachers are very warm-hearted and love to help their students! We also have a homebase, which is where you stay with the same "homeroom" for all four years of high school, and you make lifelong friends who will be there to help you with any problems that arise. There is also a class dedicated to getting ready for college and life, where I have learned many useful tools such as how to create a budget and make a resume to match what you are going for in life. The only downside to Indian River Charter High School is the lack of sports because we do not have any teams that play other schools. However, we have one of the best performing arts programs in the state! Our visual and performing arts classes are the stars of our school and they make us unique.

I'm currently in my third year at IRCHS, and I would definitely recommend anyone to this school. The Performing Arts program is full of extreme talent and prepares for college

This is a theatre school, and there aren't really any competitive sports teams. However, the students and administration of Vero Beach High School have been very accepting and welcoming and allow us to join theirs

Academics are great, AP and Dual Enrollment offered

What I really think is what makes this school special is Homebase. If you're unfamiliar with this, it is basically like a student break room. You, along with around 25 other students in your grade level, are assigned to a Homebase teacher. You meet every day and it's a great opportunity to make friends and get to know classmates. You learn to collectively care for a space through chores and independence from HB requirements (Volunteer hours, Cultural event, Govt. meeting). These skills and experiences have formed me into a more well-rounded student
It gave students the freedom of choice, in making their own schedules, have breaks and free time, being able to go off campus during breaks, start and end at different times throughout the day, and enroll at the local college through dual enrollment. It charged students with responsibility and was a wonderful place for students who were mature enough and prepared to handle it. It has a wonderfully close knit, community culture. This also had it’s downfalls as in any “family” setting word travels fast and professionalism is sometimes clouded by familiarity. Overall it is the best school in the county and deserves its place as a public charter school, receiving state funding.
