Great school would 100% recommend, Teachers are great food is very good and have amazing sports teams
Groosly overcrowded (1200+ students/capcity is 800), the teachers are overwhelmed and inadequately educating the students. Staff are grossly overlooking behavioral and illegal activities occurring during school. The school is old, dirty, no soap or paper towels ever in the bathrooms, the clocks and lights do not work in many areas of the school and it is full of roaches. My children have attended the school for the last 2 years and both years have been sick with the flu. Sports begin at 7th grade and most are combined with the high school sports so there is little chance of making the teams. The bus services are even worse. They leave kids at school, but don't tell you which kids were left behind. They sit 3 to a seat, for upper grade levels this is not possible nor is it safe. During the pandemic they sent home packets of worksheets, while ever other districts were doing online. The South Carolina School systems should be ashamed to operate a school under these conditions!
As a former student at Indian land middle, I can attest that the learning environment is adequate. The teachers I was gifted with having for my eighth grade year are people who have influenced my life, and helped me flourish. As a student with adhd, and a learning disability, I definitely can say that the resources I needed to have in order to learn were provided.
In my experience at Indian Land High School I found it really fun. I loved going to the dances and sport activities. ILHS has wonderful teachers and staff. I just wish they taught more about college and how to plan.
