Indian Creek High School Reviews
Rating 3.3 out of 5 63 reviews
My experience at Indian Creek High School has not been good. Freshmen year was okay. I was online and finally fitting in. Sophomore year was okay too, I made a couple of friends but they were not good people. They would make fun of me all the time. My Junior year was better, I finally had a boyfriend and some good friends, and was living my life to the fullest thinking I got it right until we broke up in May. Several people, knowing I was at my lowest, bullied me endlessly. Several people told me that I shouldn't even be here anymore. I got through it like I always have. My Senior year, however, has been the worse. When we were still dating, I found out that my ex had been cheating on me with my best friend and they have bullied me the worst. I've almost gotten hit with a car, had a pregnancy rumor, been called countless names, and have had several other rumors about me. People have made it hard for me to want to come to school. I can't wait until that all changes in college.
Some of the core appeals of the school were it's strong student-teacher relationships, sense of community, and traditional teaching style, but that all has but vanished. Several teachers have retired or quit, and their replacements have a high turnover rate. Many of the incoming teachers are lack experience, and leave just as quickly as they came. Indian Creek fails to offer the extra curricular options and resources for students. Indian Creek remains traditional at the expense of its students.Indian Creek has dismal resources to help students who need it. The school has almost no mental health resources. While they claim that they actively fight bullying, many student reports fall on deaf ears. While larger schools can have more problems because of their population, I would recommend prospective parents and students look to at least somewhat larger schools and communities if given the chance, as Indian Creek's small size creates more problems than benefits for their students.
The teachers were amazing they tried to help students as much as possible. the guidance counselor was very bad at their job. Tried getting help with school but refused and was very unhelpful constantly let out snarky remarks making students feel badly about their grades instead of helping.
