I love the school! The school is very diverse and has many amazing clubs and after school activities like Robotics, Sewing club, Food club, Dance Clubs and much more! The teacher are can be very supportive and help students with their homework. Independence High school is a very special place because we have a very spirited school that frequently have breathtaking assembly performances that are performed by the clubs here on campus. The school is very lively and very convenient to the public library next door. Some teacher are very nice and allow students to eat in their classroom during lunch but I really wish that the school had more shaded areas, benches and tables for students. Overall my experience at Independence high school was an amazing opportunity to reunite with all my friends and meet new people.

Whether you are a school-spirited person or a fitness-focused athlete, Independence offers many opportunities to express themselves. Spirit weeks are school-wide festivities with lunchtime games. Teachers genuinely care about their students, and Goodwill has given grants to have afterschool workshops for students who are struggling in class (they also offer free food!). For those interested in community service, there are several clubs focused on helping the community where you can meet people not only from Independence but also from schools in the city. If you are interested in other topics, there are also clubs for you. For example, Sandwich Club makes sandwiches which they sell during lunch and give to the poor. Our sports are also top-notch, participating in many championships and including tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, and more. Whether you are looking for a school with sports or a school oriented in computer science, Independence has it all!
This school is fantastic! The teachers are passionate about their jobs, and that makes the education so great. The atmosphere is great as well. The sports teams are dominant, with baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling all going onto state competitions. There are only two negatives: The time between classes is too short, and the lunches are not very appetizing.
