These previous comments are very strange to read. My daughters have been at Independence for several years now. I have never seen Graffiti on the walls, they have never been exposed to drugs or smoking. We love our school and love all the after school clubs and sports that allow them to develop team building, sportsmanship, and intrapersonal skills from such a young age. There have clubs from many areas of interest.
Our biggest downfall has been teacher turnover- however we have had at least one teacher each year that has gone above and beyond for our children. I have had teachers move me to tears with their interest and investment in our children's personal development. Stay late for tutoring and ensuring they are mastering skills and offer so much support.
Communication is often lacking, which is my biggest complaint with the school, but overall we have had a great experience here

Independence academy is an ok school. The k-6 is great but the 7th and 8th graders are the worst. they vape, do nasty stuff and they are targeting students. the bullying is also really bad. they call people "pick me's", B1tches and threaten kids.
There have been a lot of changes in the last year. Class size was more like 20.1 in elementary grades. There are strong religious undertones as the school started at a church.
