Incarnate Word High School Reviews

Something I loved about Incarnate Word High School was the modular schedule we had at the school. It was built very much like a college schedule and teaches the students to use their time wisely and learn to balance out their homework, social life, teacher-student relationships for tutoring, and athletics all at the same time.

What I would like to see change about Incarnate Word High School is to have updated facilities. It is understood by all that these facilities cost money, but I feel our school could put more consideration towards the facilities our students use daily such as: bathrooms, smartboards, more efficient water fountains, and parking space around the school depends on who arrives first due to there not being enough space.
Review Incarnate Word High School
Incarnate Word is a great school that properly prepares students for college. The school is extremely challenging but, it teaches you how to manage stress and overcome obstacles. I would definitely recommend this school to incoming high school freshman because I truly believe it has positively influenced me. However, if I had to change one thing I would make the school more accessible to students with physical disabilities. There are no elevators and that can make it difficult for a student with disabilities to attend Incarnate Word High School.
In all honesty, I wanted to attend Incarnate Word since shadowing a student there when I was still in 8th grade. My overall experience has been excellent; I graduated (Class of '17) feeling confident in myself and how I would perform in college.

IWHS recognizes that you're experiences now (in high school) will define how you will perceive and act in the future. IWHS also employs the modular schedule, which is nearly identical to how a university schedule operates. This "mod system," definitely helped me manage my time and responsibilities over the course of four years.
