Impact Early College High School Reviews
Rating 3.99 out of 5 179 reviews
IMPACT is a generally good school that provides an experience with the fundamentals to understand and build familiarity with college life. The school consists of about 400 students, and the teachers offer help with optional tutorials and extra practice to better understand the material they are teaching. Teachers are easy to approach and helpful. Another thing I love about this school is that we have a head start to college classes since our school’s main goal is to make sure all their students graduate with an associates. While the school has some alluring strengths, there are also some cons. For example the food choices are diminutive since there are not a lot of students. There are also no sports in my school since the focus is on grades. I personally love choir but had to give it up when coming to this school. A lack of diverse social activities is also present but overall IMPACT is still a great school ,but it needs to invest in creating a greater sense of high school normalcy.
Impact is an amazing school with great opportunities. It is a safe school, no fights or anything of the sort occur. Everyone who stays there knows they’re there to try their best, and they do. Teachers are also nice. There is a lot of work you need to do but it all pays off. By the end of your high school career you’ll have already earned a associates degree and would only have to complete about 2 years of college for a bachelors when you transfer your credit hours. You also get mostly all the perks college students get and can wander the campus on your free time. I definitely recommend Impact to everyone who truly cares about their studies and want to have an advanced academic career. One disclaimer is that your grades might not be as high as your used to them being. Especially when you come in as a freshman. Since it is a small campus, everyone gets the same teachers, and a little warning, freshmen history teacher is harsh. If you can pass his class, you’re good to go.
I enjoy Impact Early College High School because of the opportunity to earn my associate's degree when I graduate high school. Not to be mean, but that's the only thing I like about this school. Everything is fine, but I prefer a larger school and shorter class periods that are not an hour and 32 minutes long. What I would like to see change is our sports program. We don't compete with other schools in sports. We played a volleyball game with Start Career Tech High school once a year. I proposed that we should go against other early college high schools in the Harris County area. Another thing we should change is the time students get up to go on a bus. My bus comes at 5:37 am, which is very early. To make matters worse, I must wake up around 5:00 am or sometimes 4:30 am. The third thing I want to see change is the size portion of our lunch. I remember my best friend and I got mashed potato bowls, and she only got one small popcorn chicken.
