ISJ is located on the grounds of the St James Lutheran Church. The building is maintained by the church staff and at times this can prove to be a struggle. Overall, the building is great shape. The hallways are painted in a mural that the children all participated in with an artist in the congregation at St James church. Within the recent years, there has been a drive to incorporate technology into all of our classrooms and the upper classmen use Chrome books regularly. Thirty hours of parent voulenteering is required and so many parents roll up their sleeves when needed to pitch in and help! Since our busing is limited to drop off and pick up (through GRPS) we rely on parent volunteerism to transport for field trips and other school outings. ISJ does not have a gymnasium on site but instead utilizes a nearby gymnasium for our physical education classes (twice a week) and sporting events throughout the school year (girls & boys basketball and coed volleyball).
