Immaculate Heart of Mary School Reviews
Rating 5 out of 5 3 reviews
My son has thrived since starting at IHM. He is reading beyond grade level and is excited to find math in everyday situations. I appreciate the character-building aspects of the school through their Catholic education. The kids all know each other and the teachers have high expectations for both behavior and academics. The fact that there is onsite, affordable after school clubs and after school care has been so helpful. He gets his homework done and it allows me to manage the afternoons. I am excited for the new principal and parish pastor who have really infused spirit and new programs for the school.
Let me explain my star ratings below. IHM has outstanding academics with grades through the roof, honors programs, and engaging classes. 5 stars. The teachers as well are amazing, and give engaging classes for every level. They will also always be open for talking, or have a quiet room for extra studying or extra work. Again, 5 stars. There are a ton of clubs at IHM, like drama club, music lessons, boy and girl scouting, and art club. On an athletic front, we have baseball, softball, soccer, cheerleading, and many more. Academically, there are two different afterschool math programs (4th-5th and 6th-8th grades), a lunchtime book club, and coding club. Another 5 star rating. For culture, I can attest that, since IHM is such a small school, each student gets individual attention and help (if needed) from teachers. I have mentioned Sports above in the 'Clubs' category. 5 stars.
Small school where parents and teachers seem to really care, and with a new PTA President who is energizing everyone and generating some overdue spirit. There may not appear to be a lot of bells and whistles, but my daughter, who thrived on the 3rd grade standardized tests, has been happy at IHM every single day for more than four years since she began kindergarten. She loves attending every nighttime social event, where all of the other children seem happy as well. We found IHM fortuitously, and we are so pleased we did.
