Best experience for my kids throughout their elementary years! Highly engaged staff all around. I wish they had higher grade levels.
Safety is a major concern at this school. My child was punched repeatedly in the face by another student, taking teachers to pull the other student off mine. My child had blood in their nose and later a faint bruise appeared around their eye. The school did NOT notify me and I only knew because I found a note in their backpack. When I called the school I was told they had 24 hours to notify me. I'm sorry--if my child is under another student on the ground, being hit, you are to notify me. Immediately. I was also promised weekly follow up calls by administration, those never came. I do not feel safe sending my child there anymore, and we have transferred for next year. When I was speaking to the parent who recommended this school, they also stated they were having issues with bullies but were not able to get in to another charter as of yet. How can one stress character building when safety is such a concern?
If you care about the safety of your child and if communication between you and the school is important, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. We had to pull our children from this school after we have given them so many chances to make things right. My oldest was dealing with bullying in the classroom, not much was done about that. I know two other students were pulled for the same reason. A substitute teacher gave my kindergarten over the counter MEDICATION and did not contact me. When I picked up my child she was extremely drowsy. When I called the front office they were no help at all. The next day my husband and I had to demand to speak to the princible. She assured me she would get to the bottom of what happened and email me. This was a week ago and I haven't heard anything. In that same meeting she told me the paperwork to pull my kids would be emailed as well. That never happed. I had to go up to the school.
