I just transferred here and I'm finishing up my 2nd semester, so far it has been good. The education and teachers are good but they do need to work on social skills, contacting, and parent involvement. Some of the staff really don't know what's going on 70% of the time, and some get passive aggressive or just straight up rude when they feel like it. Overall good school just needs professional help.
One of my best parts of this school is the teachers are super helpful and help with everything in detail. The worst part is probably the cafeteria food, but that’s not that big of a deal.
The best part about being at I.M. Terrell is being on a robotics team, competing, winning, and gaining thr opportunity to go compete at the state level. Another great thing are the relationships between teacher and student because it makes the school as a whole feel more connected with each other. Some things I would like to change are the amount of acknowledgement the STEM department gets because it is not very recognized.
I.M Terrell Academy of Stem & VPA changes your whole viewpoint of yourself and others. I came from wearing uniforms at Tesa school of arts elementary year, and HF Stevens middle school year, to wearing my clothes that represent me for who I am high school year. The students at other schools, around us compared to us…everywhere you look in the halls there’s so many different personalities, styles, goofiness everywhere including our teachers. Our principal at I.M Terrell picks the best teachers who are the most talented, smart, brilliant, sweet teachers who wants nothing but the best for their students and our school. So things were completely different from each other for me. It’s true that I.M Terrell is a fine school that cares a lot about your future & goals that it makes you want to challenge yourself. I can say one thing, i have a love hate relationship with learning about humanities, make believe stories. Just not for me.
IM Terrell is an amazing school, and is perfect for advancing academically in a short period of time. At IMT there are On-Ramps college programs you can follow and end up with an associates degree by the time you graduate 12th grade! The STEM department includes robotics, engineering, and computer science, where you can enter competitions and get AP Credit and the teachers are involved every step of the way. While being a great STEM school, IMT also provides excellent VPA programs, from out award winning dance team to our all state choir. The VPA majors have many opportunities to travel and perform , and are a tight knit community which is any performers dream. There are even college level music theory classes. Tying everything together, IMT has an friendly community that makes everyone feel welcome, and the staff and teachers are just as fun! IMT is a rigorous school, so if your ready to perform, consider IM Terrell!
IMT is an amazing school for academics and good for students who prefer a rich education over a standard high-school experience.
I love Terrell! There is a very intelligent, diverse community here, and everyone is passionate about something. Humanities classes are amazing! There are tons of clubs to be a part of, and most people stay after school for something, whether its clubs, contests, or rehearsals. My one critique is that the intense college course workload is hard to balance with all the extracurricular activities, but you definitely learn time management skills really fast!
A very inviting community, with strong focus on academics. Students are regularly encouraged through assemblies and events made during school hours to celebrate staying on top of grades and assignments. Has a strong STEM program with computer programming and many opportunities for internships! Some students feel that their major doesn't get equal treatment as others though so some improvement could be made there. Overall, a great environment for those who want to be challenged academically alongside a friendly community.
Throughout my time at I.M. Terrell Academy I have been given incredible opportunities. From meeting professionals in my field of interest, to being given the opportunity to have an internship at one of the largest corporations in my field of interest, I feel that I was provided with my opportunities than I would have gotten anywhere else.
The faculty and staff are incredibly supportive and only want to see the students thrive and achieve greatness. Everyone I have encountered while attending I.M. Terrell have had my best interest in mind and are continually wanting to help others.

This school is alright. Sometimes students don't get notified of events until a day before, and STEM majors seem separated from VPA majors. There are only ~90 students in my junior class, which I guess is a good thing, but I've been stuck with these kids the entire time I've been in this school. If you're not super quirky and extraverted, you might find it hard to make friends. The amount of work can feel stressful, but it's fine once you complete it.
It also feels like we have zero safety and there is no protocol for the cafeteria or the auditorium. Our school is right next to homeless camps as well. This school has had homeless people wander the halls. All it takes is one person with a sick mind and we're all screwed. Other than that, cool teachers and staff, great computer science program. (If you want to do sports, this school isn't for you. There are no sports.)

It's been interesting. The school itself is really not the issue its honestly the students who attend here.
I'm the first senior to graduate and had the best time there. It is not your regular high school since their focus there is on the student's careers like in the field of Visual arts and STEM. There are many activities and events each month since we don't have sports. The English teachers are the best and their lessons were very interesting in each class. The students love the teachers for their help with each of them.
I honestly love this school. I’ve always wanted harder classes and more STEM like classes. This school is perfect for me. Other than the teachers that actually care for you and classes that are amazing, the people here are nice as well. Most other high schools in the area have those stereotypical cliques and bullies, here everyone is equal. Not to mention our principal who keeps everyone in check so that whenever something bad does happen, he’s immediately on top of the situation to fix it. We also have an amazing AVID class that helps prepare people for college and the real world. Our STEM majors get to take classes including engineering (where we get to learn the process of engineering and code), robotics where we learn and create robots from scratch, and computer science where we code! Our VPA majors can take classes for instruments, art, choir, dance, and more! I am a sophomore this year and I just love this school and I hope it gets more recognition as it grows.
IM Terrell Academy has to be one of the best schools in the district of Fort Worth. First of all the academics and the teachers on their own are absolutely amazing. Our teachers are very good with their teaching and show real expertise within their field. Then the environment of the school is wonderful it's a very open and expressive environment. There have not been any incidents amongst the students which is a feat of its own. This is why I would rate my experience as a student of IM Terrell an excellent one.
The community here is really good and i feel very accepted by my peers and comfortable to be myself.
