The best parts of my experience at Illiana were the friends I made, the classes I took, and the clubs that I got involved in. I would say the worse parts was the bubble-environment the school pretty much gave and the cliquey behavior of many of the students. I would hope in the future, the school becomes more diverse and accepting of others.
Illiana was a great place to learn and develop so many different skills. However, they used to support the arts programs much more but back when I attended, no recognition or support was given to those in the arts. Those in sports, particularly boys sports, were given every support both socially and financially possible. The Bible classes could have also been better and taught us how to deal with real world problems and questions asked. But I still loved Illiana nonetheless and am grateful my parents sent me there.
All of the teachers are nice. I had a lot of fun in my math classes. My least favorite class was definitely English. I would like there to be more options for club activities.
The teachers are excellent. They spend dedicated to you making sure you understand everything you don't. They are also someone you can go to and talk to about anything. They look at you as equals outside of class, but inside of class, your attention should always be on them. The different electives are fun and interacting too. I did the STEM program, and I can't even keep track of all the fun and involving things we did. Some of the things we did were: build model homes, design a library on Revit, learned about foundations in buildings, and how to calculate the amount of concrete needed for a foundation.
My overall experience at Illiana was a positive one. There were bumps and bruises along the way, but that's the high school experience. The academics were pretty good. I think there are several classes, both required and elective, that should be updated and improved upon. Also, there should be more of a variety of options for elective classes. For example, when I was enrolled, the only foreign languages offered were Spanish and German. Besides academics, I enjoyed my experience as an multi-sport athlete. I played varsity tennis and was on the track and field team. One aspect of the school I would like to see improved is more minority student enrollment . When I attended, my demographic (African-American) made up only 5% of the entire student body.
All the staff and teachers are super friendly and helpful. They care about each and everyone one of their students, and they want the students to be successful in whatever field they go into after highschool. They have an excellent STEM and engineering program. The teacher for both are awesome too. The counselor meet up with every grade to make sure they are on track to graduate, and they occasionally have meeting with upperclassmen to make sure they have a career to go into after highschool whether it is a trade school or a college.
Illiana is a great environment for all types of learners. The teachers have a personal relationship with students as they help their students grow closer to Jesus while teaching a lesson.
Great education, great teachers, great students. Really welcoming as a non feeder school student. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at illiana from the classroom to sports to the people I hung out with on the weekends.
I loved the community, how we had multiple chapels a week, and that all of the teachers were well qualified, cared about their students, and loved the Lord.
It is a great friendly atmosphere and the teachers care about there students and are willing to do anything they can to help the students get ready and be prepared for college
Teachers and Staff are wonderful. Girls sports aren't taken as serious as the boys.
The big issues are economic differences and race. The rich and wealthy control the schools direction. Minorities are second class and ARE not given a fair shake. This is not so much of a Christian school as it is a private school.

Illiana had wonderful teachers who were (mostly) respectful, intentional, and cared about students success. The academics were thorough and I was prepared for college well. The diversity, however, was lacking. The culture in the school was not extremely inclusive and respectful of students of color, but they were trying to move in the right direction.
Illiana Christian isn't just the place where I learn, it's the place where I've made amazing friendships and unforgettable memories. My teachers not only teach me, but care about me. They take the time to get to know their students on an emotional level and become not just our teachers, but our mentors. Starting high school is terrifying for anyone, you never know what to expect while so many different emotions are running through you. Being a person who wasn't outgoing made it hard for me to make friends at first. But with so many teachers and upperclassmen who reached out to me, it gave me strength to step out of my comfort zone and become a sociable young woman. Illiana has given me the chance to find my own personality and discover who I truly am. It has offered endless opportunities and is playing a crucial role in preparing me for college. Thanks to Illiana and my incredible relationships formed here, I feel prepared to go out and discover new opportunities in the real world.
Illiana Christian HS is wonderful. My son had a great experience there with students and teachers. They really hold Christian values and have Christian expectations of the students. It’s affordable and good for teens freshman year through senior year. Highly recommended.
Illiana is a very welcoming school and my overall 4 year experience has been very good. The school itself is a newer campus and has a series of course which suit a very substantial amount of majors.
My overall experience at Illiana Christian High school it was a blast. By the family like community and from the relationship I have built. I loved everything I was involved in. It was so much fun.
I liked the STEM courses that were offered Illiana. I enjoy being apart of the engineering classes. The school’s teachers are all pretty involved with the students of the students allow it.
