iLEAD offers many personalized programs for students to ensure their success in school. Children with disorders and disabilities are accomidated in the right space for learning. With various clubs and organizations a student develops a secure community with everyone around; however courses are still prioritized. There are many options for classes including online, in person, or through zoom. Parents have full access to their own portals so they can see their child's progress. Educational Facilitators are placed for each child and meetings are help every 20-25 days for tutoring and progress reports. Counselors and college advisors are extremely helpful for seniors and provide insight information on colleges and careers. School dances and activites are open for everyone to attend. iLEAD has many campuses with different programs in cities like Acton, Lancaster, and Costa Mesa. Each one offers different programs but they all have one mission at the end of the day to ensure student success.
Becoming a part of a homeschooling organization has been amazing, and honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. My time is more flexible, I have more time to participate in other extra-curriculum activities, that I wasn't apart of before, and I'm able to learn more about myself, by enjoying the thing I love to do (all while keeping up with my studies and maintaining a 3.74 GPA.
We tried it this year and my kids are doing great. They get there scheduled every Monday and take 8 week semester classes. They meet once or twice a week with a zoom to check in. The staff is amazing! Online program was great for us with covid.
Would genuinely give this school 0 stars if I could. Where to begin? I went through two different facilitators (academic advisors) within 2 1/2 years–the first was incredibly rude and unhelpful in my school transfer process (I came from an incredibly organized and professional private middle school), screwing up my transcripts several times forcing me to repeat classes. The second changed my college track from A-G (which I had been signed up for since my first days at iLead to ensure I can apply to any college in the country) to some unknown track WITHOUT my knowledge or consent, which has basically rendered me unable to apply to colleges despite being a senior with a 4.03 GPA and aspirations beyond a high school degree. I've never regretted joining a school more. If you have even a sliver of intellect your knowledge deserves far better. Absolutely ridiculous.
It wad ok. I had a large selection of classes, and I had accsess to some amazing resources, but i do wish there was more in person class options.
I have been homeschooling for most of my life. I had no structure and that caused me to fall behind. When I joined iLEAD, I had more structure but I also had more freedom than if I joined another charter school.
Ilead is a wonderful charter school to homeschool through! I highly recommend this charter school to anyone who wants to homeschool.
I attend iLead North Hollywood. I liked that it was block scheduling. It prepared me for the longer lectures I have encountered in my first year of college. It was very unorganized. Many students were allowed to turn in assignments at the very last minute and still given high grades. Many students were still turning in assignments on their graduation day. There were no sports and no cafeteria. It wasn't very diverse. The teachers were very kind and involved with their students. They genuinely cared and enjoyed teaching us. It was easy to pass their classes because of their understanding natures and always open arms. It felt like a very safe environment in which I was not afraid to ask questions and open myself up to criticisms. It fostered a better learning experience for myself because I grew to learn how to accept failures and learn from them.
