Ihigh Virtual Academy Reviews
Rating 4.38 out of 5 32 reviews
My experience was mainly positive. The main drawback was the very limited student interaction, club, and sports available. However, all class material was highly accessible, most of the teachers were excellent at their jobs, and there were even AP classes available all with the convenience of an online school. There was the option for synchronous studies or independent classes, which could be mixed in one schedule. Overall, 4/5.
My experience with iHigh virtual has been very good. I enjoy learning very independently so online school was a very good option for me. I very much enjoy the opportunity to learn a lot of material myself and the opportunity to do work alone. The only downside to online learning is that some teachers aren't able to provide the support that some students need. For example when I need help with a subject or concept, I figure it out on my own. Although some teachers offer tutoring, many times I find that our office hours do not line up. Overall my experience has been mostly positive.
Ihigh Virtual Academy is a notable choice above others for high schoolers especially. The teachers are supportive, with a daily afterschool meet for a one on one session to make sure you understand the material and how it will help and/or affect you in your life. The material gets you ready for life as an adult. Whether it be learning about how credit works or how your phrasing could effect others negatively, in effective and fun ways such as a game that teaches you how to manage your money properly or a rule that makes you express your opinions without either negativity or bias. The students also make the expierence all the better, with funny, positive, or thought inducing quips about a topic or being helpful when you dont understand something. Lastly, the administration is active and helpful, you can email your counsler for help on almost anything and they'll do their best to direct you to someone or help you as fast as possible. Such, as help on applying for scholarships or fasfa.
