Idea South Flores College Preparatory Reviews
Rating 4.38 out of 5 56 reviews
What i like about Idea South Flores is that all teachers give a 100% to purse your education. You do feel welcome and encouraged to look for your college readiness. When needing extra help there is always peers and teachers by your side. Counselers are just great, always there when needing assistance with college applications, resumes, going over acceptance letters, etc. A change i would like to see is academics such as programs, taking classes that your majoring in just so when entering college you have knowledge. Freedom is limited as a senior, which is one thing I dislike.
Well for starters, I like Idea's way of implenting new stuff and having it stick with you. The teachings they do at Idea and they way they teach you, really sticks with you and it has been very beneficial to me. I also like Idea's environment, it makes me feel safe while being myself. The teachers are very nice and considerate because they want to know where you are and how you are feeling. However, they are a little strict on the whole 'be uniform' style. I remember a lot of students wanting a change because of this. There was this one year where if you didn't wear black shoes, the teachers then put black duct tape on your shoes or colored it in with sharpie. It was so unfair because that would ruin the shoes. If anything, I want more freedom in wearing clothes you want to wear, rather than what the teachers and school makes you wear because it gives a freedom towards the students and a bit of independence at the same time.
Overall, IDEA is a very structured school that has lead me to become a very smart and academic person. I love IDEA because most of all, every teacher in the building focuses on every student graduating and getting into a college of their choice. The teachers are very caring and always making sure their students are learning in every safest way possible. The environment that is created by many teachers is very enjoyable because they are willing to do whatever it takes for students to focus. The teacher are also always willing to give us whatever resources needed in order to succeed. Throughout the school, there is a lot of diversity and culture that is involved. Outside of school, there are many extracurricular activities that students are able to participate in. These activities allow students to gain better relationships with others and we are also able to create many connections with others. We create many bonds between students that are forever lasting. Overall, IDEA is amazing.
