I go to school here and i can say its a pretty good school, the school is strict on teaching so students are on their A game
I don't like it. I feel like they are really exaggerated with minor stuff than the really important. there's a lot of bullying and they do nothing, they only allow people to go to the restroom twice during the day, thee administration is useless when they need to be involved when there's trouble, there's not a lot of extracurriculars.
This school so so amazing because of the enviroment they have around the school that everybody is nice.
My experience has been very good with IDEA because since I arrived they have always helped me a lot with English since I started not knowing anything and they put me in English classes to learn and the teachers were always very good to me and they always had a lot of patience with me and They tried to speak Spanish and explain all the assignments to me, although I always had difficulty in the exams, they always tried to explain everything to me very well.
Before I came to IDEA, I was not doing well in school. I was struggling in classes. It was hard for me to ask for help or get the tutoring I needed. I could hide in the back of a room and be another face in the crowd; that all changed when I became another IDEA student in the grade level polos. I could not hide in the back of the classroom here. My teachers called home regularly and signed me up for tutorials and Saturday School. My coaches made me skip practice to get the help I needed in class. As student at IDEA, I know that I have college and career options. I have had a class every year that gives me the time and space to learn about these options. Now I'm a quarter of the way through my senior year, and I can’t describe how proud I am to end high school and go to my dream college.
Here at idea San Juan the student body is very social and active creating things like chats to make sure everyone is included and set on point. The teachers here make sure the students stay on the dot as well overseeing the use of materials and much more things
During my time in high school, I had a mix of positive and negative experiences. I enjoyed being on the Hispanic Honor Society as well as the feminist club, the Pink Saints. Academically, I challenged myself with AP classes, which I enjoyed, however the workload could be overwhelming sometimes. I built close friendships with my classmates and learned valuable life lessons outside and inside of the classroom. Overall, I had a positive and fulfilling experience during my high school years that helped me prepare for college and shape me to be the kind of person I am today.
I can say in full that the 5 stars I rated was due to the tremendous help I received when applying for college. I can say full heartedly that I could not end up where I am now without the help from my counselors. But, the administration in itself was not very good. There was no connection between students and staff, and it more often than not felt like a business was being run, not a school. In fact there was tension between these two more than there was harmony. The school has had its fair share of financial issues as well. So it can sometimes feel a little underwhelming in that aspect. In my last 3 years there or so, the coming and going of staff wasn't all too uncommon. I can say that my math skills have suffered greatly because of this. I didn't see a math teacher who stayed for any more than a year in my last 3 years of high school. So that was something to worry about as well. All in all, I am just grateful my counselors were able to do what they did and help get into college.
I like this high school it’s a good school to learn but there isn’t that many fun things I would change the amount if things they let us do and make it more fun
i like this school the teachers are nice and the classes are rigorous, they are a bit too strict but its tolerable
Overall the school faculty is always changing, there are only few that have persisted through. As a senior I have close to no teachers that taught me when i was in middle school, yeah, lots of changes. Decent funding for arts or sports, defiantly can improve but so can any other school.
I genuinely feel like if I went to a normal public school, other than IDEA, they wouldn’t have prepared me for college. The teachers dedicate their time to helping students achieve their highest potential no matter the circumstances. They’ll set their stuff aside to focus on students one on one if necessary. Every student is guaranteed a good college as long as you put in the effort. After everything, it’s so worth it all. 10/10 experience
Being at IDEA since the grade kinder, it has been amazing journey and I am so thankful for the ideals instilled in me from the IDEA family. Here, I have learned key management skills like giving 100% everyday and sweating the small stuff to achieve my goals. I am super proud to be a saint, and grateful to be saying that I will have graduated with the people i have grown up with my whole life.
It was a very wonderful experience, support student in education, and offer many opportunities for student to learn. Has fun events throughout the year to make students feel the excitement of school.
This school is an amazing high school to go to. The teachers push their students to improve and become the best version of themselves. They offer a variety of rigorous Ap courses that prepare them for college.
IDEA SAN JUAN COLLEGE PREP is a really significant High school , the way the system is formed , there is so much to talk about , the way the teachers are extraordinary on teaching and helping others , the environment is mostly about learning , there is no day without a teacher asking each student if they understood the lesson , overall outstanding , besides that my experience in my 4 years on high school really changed , i came from a middle school which they did not really thought well ,i misbehaved most of the time, failed classes, and in all honestly i would fail most of the final exams, until the day i switched to idea,my behavior changed , my learning improved,my grades improved way more ,I got more interested in college, and mostly teaching me new things i wouldve not learned if i didn't attend to IDEA , all i can say , my past self would be very astonished and happy who i have become today .
I love that the focus of this school is 100% of college opportunity for all students. It has core values that help others view you as a person and is inclusive of individuality.
